Former Sonya Deville had ‘conversations’ with Carlos Silva soon after WWE exit
Days after making her debut on TNA’s AMC premiere, former WWE talent Sonya Deville has recalled her past conversation with TNA President Carlos Silva, which she had right after her exit from the Stamford-based promotion.
In a recent chat with Metro, Deville, now known as Daria Rae, revealed that once her WWE contract was not renewed in 2025, she engaged in a conversation with Silva. She claimed that although she did not join the promotion then, it was essentially the day before TNA announced their AMC deal.
“I had had conversations with Carlos (Silva) from TNA as soon as I left WWE, and that wasn’t the time for me, and I didn’t know if it would ever be to be honest, and then it just felt right. So I shot him a text, and it happened to be the day before they announced the AMC TV deal. So he’s like, ‘Did you know?’ And I was like, ‘No, I had no idea, but that’s great news,’ and so we went back and forth and made it happen, and it ended up being, I think, perfect timing.”
Rae has now joined TNA Wrestling as an authority figure on a six-month contract to help fellow authority member Santino Marella.
