This week’s WWE Main Event was taped at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, before Monday’s Raw.

T-Bar defeated Reggie (6:16)

This was fine with T-Bar getting his hand raised in a match that could have gone either way. He averages about one win a month right now, so maybe this was his win for June.

He was the heel here and a foil for Reggie who was waspish in comparison to T-Bar’s brute strength.

They did a few spots where Reggie seemed to making an impact, only to be thwarted by a big counter. At one point, Reggie hit him with two running splashes to the corner, but when he went for an audacious third, he ate a big boot.

They did a neat near fall at the end where Reggie countered High Justice and rolled T-Bar up, but he kicked out at two which crowd had bought into.

In the end, Reggie tried one too many high risk moves and got caught wit High Justice. Reggie is now 0-4 on Main Event and doesn’t look any closer to getting his first victory.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Akira Tozawa (6:27)

Benjamin returned from injury to get the win over Tozawa in a fairly mediocre match.

As was reported last month, Benjamin was out with only his second WWE career injury but returned here to notch only his third singles victory in well over two years.

Benjamin looked in fine shape and seemed to enjoy working with Tozawa, who, as always, was excellent in his role as the plucky ne’er-do-well.

Working through the commercial, there were couple of rest holds on the other side of it, but two slaps from Tozawa fueled Benjamin’s anger. The disrespect was enough to end things pretty quickly in the end.

Tozawa hoisted Benjamin up on his shoulders, but Benjamin countered and ended up using a big boot into a scoop slam to get his hand raised. It was a jarring finish that was kind of against the run of things, but Benjamin needed a decisive victory.

Final Thoughts:

It was good to see Benjamin back for in-ring action, but I hope that he doesn’t hang around on Main Event for too long as he’s wasted here. T-Bar continues to be rudderless and must be wondering what he has to do to get some renewed direction. Reggie and Tozawa are essentially jobbers at this point.
