WWE SmackDown live results: New face in Firefly Fun House


The first episode of SmackDown since Survivor Series takes place at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama tonight.

Universal Champion "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt retained his title against Daniel Bryan at the pay-per-view. WWE is hyping that Wyatt will reveal a new face in the Firefly Fun House tonight.

WWE has also announced that SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) will issue an open challenge for their titles. New Day faced Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders and NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish in a non-title triple threat match at Survivor Series, with The Viking Raiders getting the win.

NXT won four brand vs. brand vs. brand matches at Survivor Series, SmackDown won two, and Raw won one. Roman Reigns won the men's elimination tag match for Team SmackDown, while Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode won a tag team battle royal.

SmackDown starts with Roman Reigns heading to the ring. On commentary, Michael Cole and Corey Graves argued about Reigns being a locker room leader.

Reigns wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. He thanked the fans and noted he has a lot to be thankful for this year.

Reigns said team SmackDown dominated at the Survivor Series. The fans broke into an NXT chant, but there were slight boos. Reigns noted it's all WWE but praised team NXT. He claimed team SmackDown got the job down. 

Reigns thanked his team members but said there was one dummy. He called out King Corbin. 

King Corbin claimed it was his fearless leadership the led team SmackDown to victory. He said Reigns turned on his team and took him out. Otherwise, Corbin would have got the job down.

Reigns pointed out that Corbin didn't get the job done, but he can try tonight. Corbin turned the match down and talked about his Thanksgiving instead.

Corbin said he's thankful he doesn't have to put on a fake smile, eat the food he does, and buried Alabama. 

Corbin knows Reigns is looking for a fight but not against Corbin. He then brought out Robert Roode with Dolph Ziggler.

King Corbin stayed at ringside for the match. 

Roode had an early advantage, but Reigns fought back. He rocked Roode with a shoulder tackle, and Roode rolled to the floor.

Roode recovered and backed Reigns into the corner. Reigns fought back and rocked Roode with a right hand, which sent Roode to the floor.

Reigns followed up with the drive-by and had a staredown with Corbin and Ziggler. The heels backed off, but Ziggler caused a distraction, and Roode knocked Reigns off the apron into the announce table. 

Roode slammed Reigns on to the announce table and continued to dominate. 

Back from the break, Reigns fired up and caught Roode with a flying clothesline. Ziggler caused another distraction, and Reigns missed a superman punch. Roode rolled him up for a near fall. 

In a cool spot, Roode attempted the Glorious DDT, but Reigns rolled through and hit a sit-out powerbomb for a close two count. 

Roode and Reigns fought on the floor. Ziggler interfered again, but Reigns rocked him with a right hand. 

Roode took advantage and pushed Reigns into the ring post. Back in the ring, Roode came off the top, but Reigns nailed him with the superman punch for a very close near fall. 

Reigns attempted the spear, but Roode hit the spinebuster for another close near fall. The finish came when Corbin passed Roode the scepter and Corbin caused a distraction. Reigns ducked and knocked Corbin off the apron. He hit the spear for the win.

After the match, Ziggler jumped Reigns, but he fought him off. Corbin tried to attack Reigns, but he went shoulder-first into the ring post. Roode attacked Reigns with the scepter from behind.

Roode set up a chair in the ring and placed Reign's head on the chair. He tried to hit Reigns with the scepter, but Reigns moved. Graves claimed that there was a hole in the chair.

Reigns speared Roode through the barricade and smashed Ziggler with the steps. Reigns then turned the announce desk over onto Roode. 

Michael Cole and Corey Graves spoke next to the overturned announce table. Cole noted Robert Roode was taken out on a stretcher. 

They recapped the Universal title match between "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan at the Survivor Series. 

Bray Wyatt hosted another edition of the Firefly Funhouse. He brought out his new toy, the Universal Championship. The Fiend also had his own title belt, Wyatt noted he had a lot of fun playing with Daniel Bryan at the Survivor Series. Wyatt wants to play with Bryan again and noted all Bryan has to do is let him in.

Sheamus returned in a vignette. He talked about SmackDown and ran down the roster. He promised to return and make SmackDown his. 

Mustafa Ali defeated Drew Gulak 

Gulak took over after yanking Ali off the top turnbuckle. He followed up with the half-crab in the center of the ring. Ali fought out and nailed Gulak with a superkick for a near fall. The finish came when Ali hit the 450 splash for the win.

In the back, SmackDown Woman's Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks are on their way to the ring. They're about to address the entire SmackDown women's roster. 

Backstage, Daniel Bryan paced back and forth contemplating taking Bray Wyatt's challenge 

They recapped the woman's Survivor Series match and NXT Woman's Champion Shayna Baszler vs. Raw Woman's Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Woman's Champion Bayley. 

Bayley and Banks made their way down to the ring. They're out here to get a few things off their chest. Banks noted she didn't pick her teammates at Survivor Series. If she did, they would have won.

Bayley began to speak, and the fans broke into a "you tapped out" chant. Bayley and Banks refused to accept blame for losing at the pay-per-view. 

Lacey Evans interrupted and noted she was busying cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family. She mocked the heels and pointed out that Bayley tapped out. Banks became upset and got in Evans's face. Evans then hit the woman's right and knocked out Banks. 

In the back, Kayla Braxton tried to interview Daniel Bryan, but the Firefly Funhouse interrupted. 

The pig was full and upset that Bryan wouldn't play with him. Wyatt told him the story of Thanksgiving isn't true. Wyatt then showed a rap video, "the muscle man dance," and challenged Bryan. Bryan watched on from a monitor. 

Braxton tried to get answers, but Bryan remained silent. 

Nikki Cross defeated Sonya Deville (w/Mandy Rose)

Before the match, Rose and Deville mocked Cross and her appearance. 

Deville rocked Cross with a right hand and dominated her with knees. She slowed the pace down with a chin lock.

Cross fought back and hit a running bulldog. The finish came when Cross used an inside cradle for the win.

After the match, the heels jumped Cross and beat her down.

Alexa Bliss made her return and saved Cross from the beat down. 

In the back, The Miz approached Daniel Bryan. He pointed out that people like Seth Rollins and Finn Balor changed after they fought "The Fiend." He asked Bryan if it's worth it. Miz asked Bryan if he knew how important he's to the roster. Miz called Bryan his family, but Bryan didn't appear to like that. Miz walked off. 

In the back, Drake Maverick approached Dana Brooke and tried to kiss her. She turned him down and pointed out he's married. Suddenly, Elias returned and sang a song about his return and mocked Maverick. 

SmackDown tag team champions The New Day made their way to the ring. They talked about Thanksgiving and Black Friday. They decided to do an open challenge tonight and called out any team.

Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura interrupted. Zayn continued to talk about Black Friday and had some passioniate views on the day. In short, he doesn't like it. 

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day defeated Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura (Sami Zayn)  

The heels isolated Kofi Kingston for the early advantage. Kingston fought back with a dropkick for a near fall. Cesaro distracted Kingston, and Nakamura pulled him off the top turnbuckle.

Kingston made a brief comeback, but Zayn yanked him off the apron, and Cesaro rocked Kingston with an uppercut. 

Back from the break, Big E got the hot tag and ran wild. He hit a belly-to-belly but missed a splash. Nakamura rocked Big E with knees, but he fought back. 

Nakamura nailed Big E with a kick, and Cesaro hit a diving head butt for a two count.

The New Day hit a powerbomb/double foot stomp on Nakamura for a two count. 

In a cool spot, Big E launched Kingston over the top rope to the floor, but Cesaro hit an uppercut. 

Kingston attempted trouble in paradise, but Cesaro caught him and dropped him on the rope. 

Zayn tried to interfere, but the referee caught him and sent him to the back.

Kingston then hit trouble in paradise on Cesaro for the win.

Daniel Bryan made his way down to the ring to address "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. Bryan knew that stepping into the ring with Wyatt that it could change him like Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Bryan did change but not because of Wyatt but for the people.

He pointed out that he said the Yes Movement was dead but the people brought it back. He asked the fans if he accepts and they broke into a "Yes" chant.

The Firefly Funhouse interrupted. Wyatt accepted the challenge and suddenly remembered he promised a new face.

The light turned red and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt emerged from underneath the ring and attacked Bryan with the mandible claw. 

Wyatt dragged Bryan into the hole in the ring and pulled out Bryan's hair. Wyatt continued to pull out clumps of Bryan's hair as SmackDown ended.
