Sasha Banks returns at WWE Extreme Rules

For the first time since having to miss SummerSlam, Sasha Banks is back on WWE programming.

Banks made her return by getting involved in Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship match at tonight’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. As Belair was going to hit the KOD on Lynch, Banks interfered and attacked Belair to cause the match to end in a disqualification.

Banks continued to attack Belair after causing the DQ. When Banks and Lynch then went face-to-face, Banks started to beat her down too. Belair recovered and went after Banks, but Banks slapped her and hit a backstabber. Banks then laid out Lynch with a backstabber as well.

As she was heading up the ramp, Banks said she’ll see Lynch and Belair on SmackDown this Friday night.

Banks was scheduled to challenge for Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam last month, but it was announced just before the match was supposed to start that Banks wouldn’t be able to compete at the show. Lynch made her surprise return and defeated Belair in 26 seconds to win the SmackDown Women’s title.

Banks and Belair both missed two house shows the weekend before SummerSlam due to  “unforeseen circumstances.” Belair returned on the pre-SummerSlam episode of SmackDown.
