WWE Raw ratings only down three percent on Christmas Day

Even with coming on Christmas night and against a strong NFL audience, Raw only dropped three percent from last week with 2.69 million viewers.

Raw was sixth for the day on cable, trailing mostly sports-related shows like the NFL game with the Oakland Raiders vs. Philadelphia Eagles that did 11.74 million viewers, as well as an NBA game, the countdown to the NFL game, and the SportsCenter after the game.

There was a big first-to-second hour drop, but holding off Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe and a Tag Team title match with Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan beating Cesaro & Sheamus to hour three kept the third hour from suffering a similar drop.

Unlike Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, which traditionally do bad numbers, Christmas doesn’t seem too bad and New Year’s night historically has done okay, as it’s a big night for overall television viewing, but usually has strong college football competition.

The three hours were:

  • 8 p.m. 2.95 million viewers
  • 9 p.m. 2.62 million viewers
  • 10 p.m. 2.54 million viewers
