WWE closed SummerSlam 2018 with the two faces of the company holding their respective titles.

In matches that went over relatively well -- or in the case of the main event, at least averted what appeared to be certain disaster -- Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship and Ronda Rousey captured the Raw Women's title on Sunday.

Over three years after the Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar saga started, it ended pretty anticlimactically. WWE limited the crowd backlash by having Braun Strowman come out before the main event started. He got a big reaction and told Reigns and Lesnar that he wasn't a coward and was letting them know in advance that he was going to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase after the match.

But that cash-in never happened.
