January 22, 2018 Wrestling Observer Newsletter: Paige’s in-ring career with WWE over, Reigns steroid allegations, more

In a lot of ways, it has been a nightmare period for Paige (Saraya Jade-Bevis), as it looks like her in-ring career, at least in WWE, is over at the age of 25.

Bevis was ruled by WWE medical as having injuries so severe that she won’t be cleared to wrestle. The story was originally reported by Mike Johnson of PW Insider and a number of people in WWE confirmed it to us, however the company itself was not going to make an official statement or confirm the story publicly. All that was said on Raw is that due to a neck injury, Paige will be out of the Royal Rumble. She was on Raw on 1/15 as part of Absolution, in the corner of Sonya Deville.

Her career wasn’t short, as she started at the age of 13 working on shows promoted by her family around the U.K. She was one of the key people involved in changing the women’s division to a more serious in-ring style while in NXT, which opened up the doors for people like Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks to take it a step farther and changing it on the main roster as well.
