VIDEO: WWE pays tribute to Pat Patterson

On the day of his passing, WWE paid tribute to one of the most important people in company history.

Wednesday night’s episode of NXT opened with a tribute to Pat Patterson. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, William Regal, the NXT roster, and NXT officials appeared on the stage and a tribute video was shown, set to “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. The tribute video is available to watch below:

Patterson was known for singing “My Way” when doing karaoke. The tribute video included clips of Patterson singing.

“No words can describe what he gave to us. His body as an in-ring performer, his mind as a storyteller, and his spirit as a beloved member of our large @WWE family,” Triple H tweeted. “I will miss him for so many reasons… it’s never goodbye, it’s see ya down the road. Love you, Pat. Abooze”

Patterson (Pierre Clermont), a Hall of Famer both for his work in the ring and his contributions to the professional wrestling industry behind the scenes. passed away at 79 years old on Wednesday morning.
