WWE officially confirms the signing of Shayna Baszler

Confirming what had been expected, WWE officially announced today that Shayna Baszler has signed with the company.

The news was revealed in an article on WWE.com, with it noting that Baszler has begun training at the Performance Center. Baszler, a 37-year-old former UFC fighter, made her WWE debut in the Mae Young Classic after starting a career in pro wrestling in 2015.

“I’m looking forward to getting out there and twisting limbs off and breaking bodies,” Baszler said in an interview with WWE.com. “I can’t wait.”

Baszler last wrestled when she lost to Kairi Sane in the Mae Young Classic finals. She was backstage at the last set of NXT television tapings but didn’t appear on any of the episodes.

The next round of tapings will take place at Full Sail University tomorrow, where WWE should finish confirming the participants for the fatal four-way NXT Women’s Championship match at TakeOver: Houston next month.
