AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Lexy Nair backstage with MJF & almost the entire Don Calli Family, as MJF said he doesn’t like, but respects Kevin Knight, as he’s not afraid to stab people in the back to get ahead, which is admirable. While looking at Kyle Fletcher, he said to Knight that he’s clearly the most talented prospect in wrestling. MJF switches to Swerve Strickland saying if he wants power, win the Owen and come take the title, if not, go Swerve off a bridge. MJF prays to God that Will Ospreay makes it to Wembley so he can break his neck. Briefly mentioning Hangman Adam Page, but laughs it off, saying he’ll never get a World Title shot again. MJF told Kenny Omega to hop off his kosher pickle, he’ll never get redemption and asks Callis how many times he’s beaten Omega, two times. Omega is nothing but a mortal who will never get redemption. MJF said everyone he mentioned was a star, unlike Mark Briscoe, as the fans love him because they feel sorry for him since his brother died, which is horrible. MJF says Briscoe is dilusional for thinking he has a shot at winning the Triple B. MJF orders Callis to tell his team DCMJF. Callis names Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada & finally, Andrade el Idolo (Trent Beretta was posing like it was going to be him and was dejected when it wasn’t).
MJF walks back in and Andrade is insulted, asking How You Know that he’ll join Max? MJF told Callis to take care of this, as Callis tells Andrade there’s a line, you have to be patient, he’ll get his title shot, but for now, do the match.
Kenny Omega vs. Tony Nese (w/Arya Daivari & Mark Sterling)
(Omega’s Road to Redemption continues, as I’d genuinely be shocked if Omega isn’t getting a World Title rematch in his hometown at the July PPV.)
Daivari & Sterling tried running distraction early, but Nese missed a springboard moonsault, allowing Omega to deliver multiple Snap Dragons. V-Trigger clobbered Nese, as Sterling jumped on the apron and ate one of his own, falling back onto Daivari. One-Winged Angel planted Nese for the quick Omega victory.
Post-match, Omega was about to talk when the TMDK music hit and out walks Zack Sabre Jr., Bad Dude Tito & Mikey Nicholls to the ring. Outnumbered, Omega retreats and tosses Sabre the mic before being joined by The Young Bucks & Jungle Jack Perry on the ramp. Sabre kicked the mic back to Omega and he introduced TMDK, but doesn’t know what it stands for, neither do they. Omega thanks Sabre for coming to AEW to challenge him, as they both have something the other want. They know that wins over each other will mean a lot to one another and they need to keep it one-on-one at the PPV, so Omega hits his go home line, since TMDK doesn’t have one, Goodbye and Goodnight. This was kind of an underwhelming interaction with these two, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a multi-man tag before the PPV, but I was at least expecting Sabre to say anything.
Match Result: Kenny Omega defeated Tony Nese
-Recent wins for The Dogs were highlighted from recent weeks and we’ll hear from David Finlay & Clark Connors tonight.
Death Riders (Continental Champion Jon Moxley & Daniel Garcia w/Marina Shafir) vs. Brodido (ROH Champion Bandido & Brody King)
(Hell of a TV tag match, as this got a lot of time, which isn’t surprising considering there’s only 2 other announced matches for the show. This was the week where Death Riders played heels, as it seems to just depend on who their opponents are these days. Everyone worked great with each other and with Bandido getting the win, I wouldn’t be shocked if he gets a Continental Title shot with Moxley at the PPV possibly.)
Garcia won the early mat return with Bandido and opted to showboat, allowing Bandido to scramble and return the favor. Quick takedowns and pin attempts led to a standoff, as Garcia mocked the gun pose, which Bandido returned, only to eat a boot and shoulder tackle. Picture-perfect dropkick clipped Garcia, as King made the tag and we get the cazadora splash, with Brodido doing the Macarena, until Garcia popped up and did his dance for the first time in quite a while. Double chops from Brodido flattened Garcia, who tagged in Moxley, someone Taz hoped would start dancing, but knows that will never happen. Moxley & King waste no time slugging it out, a battle King was winning, until Moxley went to the eyes, tried a running cross body, but bounced off King like a ball. Garcia was sent outside with Moxley, as Bandido was assisted to the top rope with a massive moonsault onto both. Back inside, Moxley was able to gain control with corner punches, as Garcia got in some cheap shots for good measure. Even Shafir raked at the mask, as Bandido remained isolated throughout commercial.
Bandido was able to make the tag to King, who fired off more strikes on Moxley and the strike exchange continues. Taz said King’s head is the size of a lobster pot, as Moxley refused to stay down, with him trying to throw lariats, only King didn’t budge, looked for a Gonzo Bomb, but Moxley slid out into a Cutter, which King no sold into a lariat and double down. Bandido & Garcia back in, as Bandido hit an overhead belly-to-belly in the corner, but Moxley pulled Garcia to safety outside. King wanted a dive, but Shafir stepped in front of him before takeoff and we get a Bark-Off between King & Shafir, giving Moxley time to hit a dive of his own. Moxley & Garcia hit a spike piledriver on King on the floor, as Bandido was crotched on the LED board, with Garcia teeing off, crashing Bandido into the front row. The doctor briefly tended to King, as Moxley threw him back inside for two. Moxley connected with a superplex for another near fall, as we went to another commercial break with King worked over for an extended period.
Moxley & Garcia did their locomotion corner splashes, until finally, King mowed them both down and made the hot tag to Bandido, who hit a Tornillo and pop-up Cutter. Tilt-a-whirl backbreakers aplenty, before the one-handed gorilla press connects on Garcia. Bandido teased a 21-Plex on Moxley, who was ready with a hard forearm before tagging Garcia. Bandido was about to suplex Moxley, as Shafir jumped in and hit a body shot, only to eat a stalling suplex for her troubles that popped the crowd. Bandido cleared the top rope with a huge dive onto all 3 Death Riders outside (Shafir included) before going back inside for a Frog Splash on Garcia, but Moxley flew in with a Curb Stomp. King made the save, as he & Moxley clobbered each other with lariats for a full reset. Garcia & Bandido traded strikes until Bandido hit a pop-up knee and the 21-Plex at the same time King took out Moxley with a dive to get the win.
Match Result: Brodido defeated Death Riders when Bandido pinned Garcia
-ProtOkada are backstage saying they haven’t forgotten about the International Title even though they are teaming with MJF tonight and at Forbidden Door. They both know someone who won’t be teaming on Briscoe’s team and point down to a beaten Tomohiro Ishii. They wish Briscoe good luck finding another partner and they’ll see him in the main event.
**********
-Tommaso Ciampa is backstage saying he doesn’t need 1,004 reasons why he hates Jericho, he can give him one. He used to respect the Lionheart, the guy who took over New Japan Pro Wrestling, first ever AEW World Champion, that guy was the best, but 2026 Chris Jericho, jokes, puns, desperation, he hates every last bit of it. That guy needs to stay the hell out of Ciampa’s world, but if Jericho has it in him to think he’s worthy, let’s dance. Ball is in Jericho’s court, don’t drop it.
–The Dogs were about to bully a production staff member like they usually do before their entrance when it was revealed to be Adam Copeland & Christian Cage, who fought The Dogs to the ring. They were about to lay out Clark Connors with a double Spear, when David Finlay pulled him to safety and The Dogs bailed through the crowd.
Cage said after what happened a few weeks ago and they won the AEW Tag Team Titles, people expect him to say something unsavory about a family member, they’re wrong, even Christian Cage has standards. Cage still said he’s never seen a tag team named after their mothers and said his father should’ve done us all a favor and let David run down the inside of his leg. Copeland said The Dogs are them from 30 years ago, so they understand wanting to make a name off their reputations, but don’t realize Cage & Copeland are their learning curve. They thought they knew it all, but came up against the New Age Outlaws & APA, realizing they had to learn and picked up a lot from facing those teams. It’s simple, Forbidden Door, they’re going to use their old man strength, knowledge & grumpiness to make sure when The Dogs enter their house, you’ll walk out through the Forbidden Door housebroken little punks.
-Footage of Starlight Kid from Japan was shown cutting a promo on Thekla, who she’ll face at Forbidden Door. Kid isn’t going to let Thekla run wild, as she’ll return to Japan with the AEW Women’s Title. We’re told that Kid has beaten Thekla in the past. We go to Thekla sitting backstage saying she did all that dojo life, which made Kid a star, when it got Thekla kicked out of Stardom. Tony Khan said Kid was his favorite wrestler outside of AEW, which Thekla doesn’t care about, she only cares about her title. Spitting on the Stardom logo is just the start of what Kid can be offended by, as she’ll take her mask off and spit in her face at Forbidden Door, which, once it opens, she’ll show that Thekla runs this place.

-Lexy Nair is backstage with Brodido, as Bandido is psyched they’re back together and beat the Death Riders. Bandido saw some gold in his mind, the Continental Title and was about to issue a challenge when Moxley walks in with Garcia & Shafir. Moxley keeps saying tranquilo and asks if Bandido wants a shot at the title? That means no King or Death Riders, so Moxley said shoot your shot.
Mercedes Mone vs. Hazuki in a Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal
(I initially thought this started pretty slow, but my goodness did this pick up after the first commercial break and kept it’s foot on the gas the rest of the way. I’d certainly could see the argument that this was the women’s TV match of the year so far, as despite not being that well known in AEW, Hazuki got the crowd behind her and had them biting at false finishes. If there’s one thing Mone loves more than winning titles, it’s using that Meteora, as I hope her knees can hold up from the amount of times she hits that move each match. She continues to be the favorite to win this Owen back to back.)
Standing switches kick things off, with Mone connecting on a back elbow and takedown by the hair. Hazuki slipped on the rope into an arm drag, but missed a follow charge, as Mone hit a springing arm drag of her own. Hazuki answered with a dropkick, forcing Mone to take a powder and going to admire the Owen Hart trophy and title. Back inside, head scissors from Hazuki led to another dropkick sending Mone outside once more. During commercial, Mone continued to gaze at the trophy, before Hazuki hit face washes back inside. Hazuki missed a running senton, giving Mone a chance to hit her first Meteora and ground and pound to take control. Mone worked a cravat throughout the rest of the break before spiking Hazuki with a lungblower for two. Baseball slide sent Hazuki to the floor, as Mone slammed her repeatedly into the apron. Back inside, Mone slowed the pace considerably, as she continued to stay in control with another low Meteora for two. Hazuki side-stepped a charge through the ropes and hit a DDT on the apron, following up with three Tope Suicidas getting the crowd going.
Hazuki up top with a shotgun dropkick for two, but transitioned into a Crossface, as Mone fought to the ropes. Mone countered a suplex into two of the Three Amigos before sending Hazuki through the ropes, snapping the arm. Third Meteora of the match from the ropes onto the stage, as things go to a second commercial break. Back inside, fourth Meteora for a near fall, then a fifth in the corner. Mone stayed in control, until finally missing a Meteora and Hazuki woke up and was relentless with strikes. Mone blocked a charge, driving Hazuki face first into the corner, but took too long to follow-up, giving Hazuki a chance to hit a lungblower and senton off the top for two, but switched into the Crossface again. Mone escaped, but Hazuki maintained wrist control and we get a slugfest with Mone fading. Hazuki took way too long to capitalize, as they traded knee lifts into a reset.
Both ladies got to their feet, where Hazuki spiked Mone with a spinning DDT and thrust kick for two. Hazuki hit a brainbuster, but Mone wisely rolled outside to create distance. That amount of time it took Hazuki to get her back inside, gave Mone a chance to try for her lungblower, which led to multiple pin exchanges. Mone wrenched Hazuki down to the mat violently by the bad arm and applied the Statement Maker, as Hazuki rolled into a pin attempt for two. Both up, as Mone hit a Backstabber, but Hazuki slid through a Mone Maker into a two count. Hazuki rolled through another Mone Maker into La Magistral for another near fall. They exchange strikes until Hazuki tried a cazadora, but Mone countered into a backstabber and Statement Maker again, this time, Hazuki fought valiantly, but tapped.
Match Result: Mercedes Mone defeated Hazuki to advance in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament
-Video package for Athena vs. Maya World this week on Collision is shown and who will face Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Final
Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland Face-to-Face
Tony Schiavone welcomes Ospreay to the ring first, congratulating him for getting married this weekend. Ospreay thanks fans for the messages and he’s supposed to be on his honeymoon, but his wife said they can go to Hawaii whenever they want, go chase your dream. Ospreay said he took her upstairs, smashed the life out of her and said he’s got to go to Houston. That led to Schiavone introducing Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana to the ring. Nana told Schiavone his suit is way too tight and get out of the ring.
Strickland said it’s almost been a year since he’s last talked to Ospreay, no text, no calls and said he doesn’t like what he’s seen, he’s changed. Ospreay said nothing about him has changed except his hair, while something about Strickland changed, the way he’s looking at him, so do we need to have a chat about something? Strickland said they do, as everything they fought for last year against Death Riders, only for now to be playing booty boot camp (yes, that got a chant) with Moxley, Ospreay never gave a reason why, as Strickland said he changed. Ospreay said he hasn’t forgotten or forgiven the Death Riders for what they did to him, but realize he had to let it go for now. It’s working, his neck feels great, ground game improving, but speaking of the night they snapped his neck, Ospreay saw Kenny Omega, The Opps, Darby Allin (who could climb Mount Everest, but not a cage) and didn’t see Swerve Strickland, where was he? Ospreay can’t be mad, he knows Strickland tore his knee, so he got to thinking about AEW All In Texas, where they had each other’s backs against The Young Bucks and when Ospreay said he & Hangman Adam Page needed help getting the World Title back, Strickland said nothing. So when Ospreay was taken out before he could do anything, when watching back that’s when he saw Strickland come out to help. Ospreay demands to know why Strickland wasn’t out there with him? Strickland goes to talk, but Ospreay swatted the mic from his hands. Ospreay knows that Forbidden Door is Strickland’s redemption, but it’s Ospreay’s dream. He used to work outside Wembley Stadium, watching people walk inside to support their team and bring up everyone mentioning in school that their dream was to score the winning goal at Wembley Stadium and Ospreay is one win away from his World Cup Final. Strickland is a man standing in the way of his dream and his country’s dream, so he won’t hesitate to end Strickland.
Strickland said not if I do it first, as last year, he heard Ospreay say it wasn’t either of their time, it was Hangman Page’s time and he agreed, sitting back to fight with Ospreay against the Death Riders to get that World Title off Jon Moxley’s hands. Strickland asks, where’s Page now? Ospreay doesn’t know, neither does Strickland, who doesn’t care because everything Ospreay said was for nothing. You expect Strickland to step aside so Ospreay can have his way to the World Championship, F*ck That! Strickland is sick of others getting opportunities he deserved, as when he was World Champion, he had to let veterans, legends step on his time, sitting at home for 6 weeks because of fragile egos talking. Strickland isn’t letting it happen, not even for Ospreay, as he made a career out of throwing Molotov cocktails at the system and Ospreay respects that. Every time they step in the ring, they change what pro wrestling is going to be, they raise the bar. One thing is certain, Swerve Strickland victorious over Will Ospreay, as he’s been unable to defeat Strickland in 10 years. When Strickland mows over Ospreay and wins the World Title at Wembley, maybe Ospreay can challenge for it and Strickland can beat him again and again and again. This Will Ospreay isn’t better than him on Strickland’s worst day with his fragile ass neck.
Ospreay punched Strickland, as Nana handed him a chain, until Death Riders music hit and out came Moxley, Garcia, Shafir & PAC to surround the ring. Strickland said Ospreay’s right, he really has changed before walking up the ramp with Nana. Ospreay left with the Death Riders through the crowd, Garcia seemed pissed that Ospreay didn’t throw more hands at Strickland, as this was one hell of a promo to ramp up to this match at the PPV.
-Lexy Nair is backstage with Jericho who said this Saturday on Collision, lets get serious in the ring face-to-face.
**********
-Daniel Garcia is asking Ospreay what he’s going to do about Strickland calling him fragile? Ospreay slams Garcia up against the wall and Moxley walks in asking if Ospraey feels in control, which he says no. Moxley said it’s only words, they use words when they have nothing else to use, as Ospreay is this close, don’t lose control, don’t lose focus, it’s just words. Ospreay let go of Garcia, who said yeah, just words.
Ahead of the main event, Excalibur said Tony Khan made it official, if either team is DQ’d, they’ll lose a man on their team at Forbidden Door.
Mark Briscoe is backstage with Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong saying he’s ready to bust through the glass ceiling and said while Max was off playing hide the pickle with the Don Callis Family, he was putting together his team. Briscoe said Ishii will be back and they will avenge, as O’Reilly said if anyone gets DQ’d tonight, they’re out of Forbidden Door, which bums Briscoe out. Briscoe brings in Konosuke Takeshita, who said Fletcher, I want you, Okada, I hate you. Final member of Team Briscoe is Darby Allin, who said he heard that sh*t about the glass ceiling his whole life and they going to beat their asses tonight and Forbidden Door, so Briscoe can get a World Title shot and win the title.

Team MJF (MJF, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Kazuchika Okada, Jake Doyle & Andrade el Idolo w/Don Callis) vs. Team Briscoe (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita & Darby Allin)
(This was a big ol’ party match to end the show and give us a taste of how chaotic the Forbidden Door steel cage match will be. You have so many side stories to come out of this, from MJF & Briscoe, Takeshita & ProtOkada, Allin & Knight, Andrade & MJF, Knight & MJF, we even had some interactions with MJF & Fletcher. While the heels stood tall tonight, it does make you think that maybe the same won’t be said at the PPV and maybe the wheels will fall off for DCMJF.)
Bell sounds and immediately MJF tagged out to an annoyed Andrade. Fast slugfest kicks us off, as Briscoe sent Andrade outside with a flying forearm, but Andrade was there to drive Briscoe into the apron and take a selfie with a fan ringside. Briscoe flew through the ropes with a baseball slide and ate 10 punches back inside. Strong with 10 punches of his own and Cassidy was about to hit one, Andrade avoided, but Cassidy pulled his pants down. O’Reilly & Fletcher in for the Kyle-Off as they exchange wrist locks long enough for the crowd to go nuts with Let’s Go Kyle chants. O’Reilly picked the ankle, got an ankle lock, as Okada broke it up and the match completely fell apart with everyone brawling ringside. Allin tried a Coffin Splash on Dyle, who caught him initially, but was low bridged, as Allin hit a top rope Coffin Drop. Cassidy wiped out Knight with a Tope, as Takeshita cleared the top with a somersault dive on the pile. Back inside, Allin met MJF face-to-face, until Knight blindsided Allin, but Fletcher shoved Knight off and put the boots to Allin himself. Fletcher & Knight had to be separated by the official, as MJF came in to pick up the scraps heading to commercial at 2 minutes past the top of the hour.
Allin was isolated briefly, but Cassidy made the tag, trying for a top rope cross body on Doyle, who caught him, only Cassidy hit a Stundog Millionaire. Wanting his Satellite DDT, Doyle put on the brakes to avoid and mowed down Cassidy with a body block. It was Cassidy who was worked over, with Doyle taking turns with his back turned to the ring and smashing Cassidy’s arm down repeatedly. They went to the well once too many, as MJF had his arm given to Doyle, who smashed it over and over, with Andrade watching gleefully. MJF badmouthed Doyle, allowing Strong to make the hot tag with Sick Kicks and showing why he’s The Messiah of the Backbreaker. Strong used Cassidy as a projectile from corner to corner until Andrade ate an assisted hurricanrana. Doyle & Strong slug it out, but Doyle stepped on Strong’s foot and waffled him with a right hand. Strong answered with an Angle Slam for two.
O’Reilly in for a Nigel lariat, which Doyle no sold, but the knee lift crumbled him. Andrade flew in with a flying forearm, but Allin was waiting for him and got tripped up by Knight to give Andrade a chance to hit his spinning back elbow. Cassidy in with his Satellite DDT, but stumbled into Okada’s Tombstone. Takeshita appears, avoids Rainmaker, but was attacked from behind by Fletcher. Takeshita fought off ProtOkada initially, but Fletcher hit him with a Half and Half and Helluva Kick. Takeshita dodged a charge into a Blue Thunder Bomb on Fletcher for the wild reset. Briscoe & MJF tag in, but Knight put a stop to any strikes thrown, eating a right hand of his own. Briscoe cleaned house until teasing Jay Driller on MJF, but Knight flew in with a springboard lariat. Allin dove in to tackle Knight, who ran for his life through the crowd and up to the stage, as Allin is limping visibly throughout. Doyle made the save with a rear naked choke and Knight teed off with body shots. Doyle violently threw Allin from the stage to the ring post. MJF was about to hit a Heatseeker on Briscoe, who counted and spiked MJF with a Jay Driller, only Callis took the ref, who missed the visible three count. Briscoe up top for a Froggy Bow, but Fletcher intervened. Strong made the tag, but was immediately slammed down by MJF into Salt of the Earth for the quick tap.
Post-match, the heels continued their attack in the ring and out, as Callis said he’s going to join the party. MJF pulled out the Dynamite Diamond Ring and ordered Andrade to pick Briscoe up, as the two shoved each other, so Callis told Andrade to do it because of the money and also the title shot. Andrade obliged and MJF decked Briscoe as all the babyfaces were laid out with the heels standing tall.
Match Result: Team MJF defeated Team Briscoe when MJF submitted Strong
