Ric Flair targeted in fake Joe Rogan podcast booking scam

Ric Flair

Ric Flair, one of pro wrestling’s all-time greats, was apparently targeted in a financial scam where he was led to believe he was being booked for Joe Rogan’s podcast.

Flair appeared on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience in 2023 and announced in late 2025 that he had been invited back on the show. However, that second booking looks to have been a scam. Rogan — when Flair’s name was brought up on his podcast last month — mentioned that a scammer contacted Flair claiming to be representing the podcast and trying to book him.

The way the scam works, the scammer claims that you’re going to be paid an appearance fee for coming on the podcast. They ask for your bank account information to send the payment and then drain your account. Rogan does not know if Flair gave up that information or if he lost any money.

Rogan mentioned that the scam seems to be a somewhat common one, with fellow comedian/podcast Tim Dillon having been targeted by someone who said they were representing Amy Poehler’s show.

“I got to apologize to Ric Flair. He got scammed,” Rogan said. “So some person reached out and said that they were representing this podcast and he was going to come on the podcast. I think Tim Dillon, this happened with him too. It didn’t happen with him where they got him, but they send you an email saying that they’re going to have you come on a podcast but they need your bank information…

“If you get an email like that from me, it’s not real. Sorry, Ric Flair. I don’t know if he lost his money.”

Rogan said there isn’t really anything he can do when someone is targeted in a situation like this, and he doesn’t want to give out actual information on how he books his guests because scammers will then just follow that.

Rogan didn’t specify when this happened or when he found out about it, but Flair posted in December 2025 that he was “thankful and happy” to have been invited back to the Joe Rogan Experience.

“I Am So Thankful & Happy To Announce That I Have Been Invited To Be On Joe Rogan’s Podcast Again!” the 77-year-old Flair wrote. “I Will Be Discussing My Problem With Everyone Who Has An Issue With Me With THE GREAT JOE ROGAN. The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast Is Recognized As The Best Podcast Of All Times! You Know Who I Am Talking About; Go Look In The Mirror. Joe Rogan Doesn’t Bullsh*t, And Neither Do I.”

The Joe Rogan Experience episode where Flair actually appeared was released in April 2023.
