WWE NXT wrestler out of upcoming title match
A NXT wrestler is out of a scheduled title match set for tomorrow’s show at the WWE Performance Center.
GM Robert Stone announced on Monday that Layla Diggs was injured during a house show on Saturday and as a result, her upcoming North American title match against Zaria was off. However, Stone said that he was currently working on a replacement and a title match would be taking place on Tuesday regardless.
Diggs ended up winning a number one contender’s match on last week’s show, defeating Izzi Dame, Lizzy Rain, and Thea Hail. She suffered the injury while wrestling Zaria at a NXT live event in Sebring, Florida.
Other matches set for Tuesday include Vanity Project defending the NXT Tag Team titles against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux as well as Lola Vice facing Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong in a three-way number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Who is Layla Diggs?
Diggs has started to appear on television in recent weeks, forming an alliance with Nattie, Karmen Petrovic, and Nikkita Lyons. Prior to that, she has been wrestling at the PC since the summer of 2023, making appearances on NXT house shows, Level Up, and Evolve.
