*********

I find myself back in the land of NXT where the old gives way to the new! Or something like that.

You know onight is gonna be great because Lillian Garcia is here! Beyond that, its gonna a big night with two title matches and a #1 contender situation to sort out. To begin though:

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Vanity Project (c) (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) vs Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dukes

The challengers took it to the champions right form jump and right through the beginning few minutes of the match. Van Dukes used the ropes to springboard Legacy about 15 feet into the air to dive onto Baylor and Smokes on the outside.

Jackson Drake got involved to cause a distraction allowing Vanity projec tto turn the tables. Smokes isolated Legacy in the VP corner and peppered him with double teams and hard strikes. Legacy tried to fight back, but neither Smokes or Baylor were giving him an inch.

Legacy threw a back elbow and tried to break out, but Baylor nailed him with a high knee followed by a dropkick spinebuster combo, but could only get a two count. Legacy trid to get a tag, but Baylor cut him off. Legacy dodged some offence and finally got the rolling tag to Van Dukes wo jumped in and cleaned house.

Van Dukes went up top, but Baylor dodged and tagged in Smokes who hit a slingshot spear, but Legacy broke up the pin attempt. Van Dukes sent Baylor into the ropes knocking Smokes onto the turnbuckle. He hit him withat superplex and then Legacy hit a springboard 360 but they could only get a two count.

A fully of tags happened and the champions ended up on the outside for Legacy to dive onto them. Van Dukes got attacked on the outisde and then thrown back into the ring for Smokes to make a quick pin and get the win to retain their titles.

Match Result: Vanity Project defeated Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dukes

-Backstage, Miles Borne and Tavion Heights were talking about how they are going to have a great night when they were interrupted by Cam Hendricks who’s health meter was at 86.2%. Heights said that he’s never been healthy and then said he and Borne should think about the tag titles.

-Back from break, Saquon Shugars was looking for help in his match against DarkState next week. He asked OTM if they would do it but they said no and then walked over to where Birthright was standing. Lexis King shot off his mouth and told them to stop coming for Birthright, because OTM’s foundation is cracking.

-Then Tristan Angels was in the ring. He talked smack about Shiloh Hill for a moment, sayin that the Good Lord sent Angels as an apology for Hill. Angels then produced Hill’s missing tooth, which was no weird at all. Angels called Hill a creepy hill billy wierdo (uhm who’s the one holding another man’s tooth, dude?) and then crushed the tooth on the ring steps.

Hill appeared on the video screen and said that losing his tooth actually made him saner. Then he screamed that the fog is coming which seemed to really scare Angels.

-But enough of all that talking, Nattie and her crew need to talk in Robert Stone’s office. Stone made a fatal four-way match for the Women’s North American title for tonight. I’d tell you who’s all involved, but we will get to that later, after several more talking segments.

Also, while we are discussing talking, I love Booker T. I always have and I always will, but he needs to be fired, out of a cannon and into a wall. Trying to follow what’s going on while he screams gibberish is virtually impossible. Commentary in general needs to talk about what is happening on the screen, when it is happening, in sentences that make sense.

Tate Wilder vs Naraku

To put a point on that, we were a full 3 miniutes into this match before they even talked about who was in the ring, when Wilder took a massive forearm from Naraku. Wilder fought back though, stomping Naraku’s spine.

The ref checked on Naraku, but it was all just a ruse to lure Wilder in for some pump kicks to the outside. Naraku pulled Wilder back in and suplexed him followed by a neckbreaker.

Naraku beat Wilder from pillar to post, clubbing and suplexing him around the ring. Naraku put Wilder in a crossface. He broke it to pull Wilder back from the ropes and Wilder went for a quick rollup but couldn’t get the pin.

Naraku shot Wilder off the ropes and Wilder came back with a Sling blade on Naraku. He executed a sling blade backbreaker and went for a pin, but could only get a two gount. He went up top and managed to hit Naraku with a crossbody for another two count.

Naraku countered and hit a leg-sweeping slam to get the pin and the victory.

Match Result: Naraku defeated Tate Wilder

After the match, Tony D’Angelo ran in to try and take out Naraku. Security flooded the ring, D’Angelo broke free and charged at Naraku and then, haha, we need to show you a graphic about the Fata Four Way that’s coming up, so don’t worry about how that fight finished.

-Back from break, Tank, Hank and EK Prosper talked about Keanu Carver but were interrupted by Shugars again looking for tag partners. They also said no.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Zaria (c) vs Izzi Dame vs Lizzy Rain vs Nikkita Lyons

Lyons and dame went after each other with Dame getting a backbreaker in for two. Lyons responded with a scoop slam and Rain and Zaria broke up the pin. Zaria started working her way through opponents, setting each woman up in the corner and throwing strikes at them.

They started brawling after that and then they went to a break, but left the commentary mics on so that was nice and professional.

Anyways, in the match that was made 20 minutes ago, Zaria hit a back breaker on Rain for a two count. Zaria put Rain in a headlock hold and Lyons put Dame in a camle clutch. Neither one resulted in a tap out.

Rain hit a hurricanrana on Zaria off the top rope but could only get a two count. Another brawl broke out and Rain kicked Lyons off the apron. On the other side of the ring, Zaria kicked Dame in the face and then they collided with a double clothesline.

Rain hit them both with a dropkick and then chopped Zaria in the corner. She stacked Dame on Zaria and then suplexed her. She hit a spine buster on Lyons, then a cutter on Dame for a two count. Lyons threw a bunch of lariats and tried to pin Rain, but no luck.

Lyons sent Zaria flying into Rain with a headscissor, then Zaria hit her with a samoan drop for two. Dame tried to pin anyone, but couldn’t get it done. Dame hit a backstabber on Rain then chokeslammed her, but Zaria broke up the pin.

Zaria took out Lyons and then suplexed Rain. She speared Dame and went for the cover, but Dame kicked out. Then Nattie and Karmen Petrovic came down to the ring. Rain hit a head butt on Dame, but Dame countered the dive through the ropes and they brawled.

Jaiida parker then came running out to join the brawling and Zaria speared Petrovic. Then Zaria got into the ring hit an F5 on Lyons and won the match.

Match Result: Zaria defeated Izzi Dame, Lizzy Rain and Nikkita Lyons

-Backstage, Shugars was complaining to Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair about his inability to find partners to face Darkstate. Nothing was resolved and then Lola Vice showed up and told Grey she’s getting her title back. Shugars just left.

-Back from break, we went to Robert Stone’s office where Tony D’Angelo said that he wants Naraku. Stone said he’s trying to protect D’Angelo from Naraku. IN THE VERY NEXT BREATH he said that next week D’Angelo and Naraku will have a match next week for the NXT Title. D’Angelo said that wasn’t soon enough and left, with Stone chasing after him.

Tavion Heights vs Jackson Drake

Drake actually entered before the break and I guess just hung out in the ring until the commercials and Robert Stone segment were over.

The match started and Drake went right to his amateur background, but Heights is a former olympian and met him move for move.

Heights then gave Drake a free shot, but when Drake went for it, Heights swept his leg and put him in a face lock. Heights threw Drake in a fisherman’s suplex then went for a belly-to-belly but Drake countered it and sent Heights to the corner.

Drake took too long on the charge and Heights was able to suplex him into the corner. Heights hit a modified one armed powerbomb and then gripped Drake in a bear hug. Booker T screamed about sharks and megladons.

Heights went for a pin but Drake kicked out. Heights tried a dragon sleeper but Drake broke out and hit a senton. Drake put on an ankle lock, but Heights countered it into a pin attempt for two. Drake responded with a cutter, but no dice.

Heights hoisted Drake up on his shoulders, but Drake got free. He pushed Drake into the corner and wrapped his leg around the ropes before hitting a dragon screw. Drake then put on an Indian Death Lock but Heights rolled it through.

They separated and Drake hit a chop block on Heights’ injured leg, then put him in the figure four. Heights rolled it over though and put the pressure on Drake, who crawled to the ropes to break the hold.

They started throwing strikes and Drakje went for a crossbody but Heights grabbed him and spun him around before throwing him with an overhead belly to belly that sent him over the ropes and into Baylor and Smokes at ringside.

Back in the ring, Heights went for a slam, but Drake countered it and rolled him up for the victory.

Match Result: Jackson Drake defeated Tavion Heights

-Reina Volcon is coming next week. A 2 minute promo video of her working out and saying motivational phrases told me so.

-Backstage, Noam Dar and his friend were approached by Shugars. He asked if they would be his partner and Dar was against it, but then his friend convinced him and they agreed.

-Then, before anyone could tell us Dar’s friend’s name, the scene switched to an absolutely nonsensical segment. Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey were talking and then they were interrupted then someone walked by and then Jaida Parker jumped that person from behind and before I could even finish makinjg enough sense of that to type it out, the entrances for the next match began.

-Next was the 27th UnReal promo package of the night (not 27 clips, the same package 27 times over) which gave me a moment to think about this frankly, pretty rough episode of NXT. What is going on in Orlando? This show is completely nonsensical over booked and yet doesn’t seem like anyone is running it. Why does everyone in NXT just stand around in the warehouse waiting for a camera to be on them? Why does everyone who complains to Robert Stone just get whatever they asked for? How did Saquon Shugars go from a menacing member of DarkState to a weird comedy act? When did we stop telling the audience who people are?? What is going on in Orlando?! Maybe the main event will bring it all together.

NXT Women’s Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match: Lola Vice vs Kelani Jordan vs Kali Armstrong

Armstrong did well, being the least experinced person in the match. She went shot for shot with both Jordan and Vice. Jordan took control and fought off Vice, then went for a cover on Armstrong. Vice came back and gabbed Armstrong. Kicking Jordan away, Vice put armstrong in a submission hold, but Jordan broke it up.

Armstrong slipped off the top rope but got back up and dove onto Vice and Jordan on the outside. She threw Vice back into the ring and kicked, punched and kicked and punched Vice. Then Jordan pulled her off and punched and kicked Vice. Then Vice tried to roll her up, but didn’t get the pin.

Armstrong and Jordan formed a loose alliance to take out Vice. Once they did, Jordan threw Armstrong out of the ring and stomped Vice. Jordan tried to roll VIce over in a Liontamer, but Armstrong clotheslined her and took over, putting Vice into the same hold.

Next, I don’t know if it was an open mic or the ref was just talking loud, but after a countdown Vice fought back and put Armstrong and Jordan into the corners for multiple hip attacks. Jordan fought back from that and held hands with Armstrong and Vice while kicking their heads.

More elbows in the corner, then more elbows in the corner, then Jordan hit a splitlegged moonsault onto Vice, but Vice caught her in a Triangle Choke. Jordan flipped through, but Armstrong pulled her off then went for a powerbomb, but Jordan rolled through.

Then Vice did the exact same thing, and put Armstrong in an armbar when the pin didn’t work. Jordan then hit a frog splash onto both of them (but we only saw it on replay) and couldn’t get either of them pinned.

Then they brawled and traded superkicks. Armstrong hit a powerslam on Vice, then a big shoulder iff the ropes that sent Vice out of the ring. Jordan tried to roll Armstrong up and the Ref may have missed a three count. Vice then spammed backfists, kicked Jordan and fell onto Armstrong for the pin.

TL;DR: Vice won and is the new #1 Contender for Kendal Grey’s NXT Women’s title.

Match Result: Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong

Romeo Moreno! They finally got a graphic up to tell me who Noam Dar’s friend is. After that though, Robert Stone and Security ran outside to where Tony D’Angelo and Naraku were rolling around in the parking lot. They separated them and Stone declared next week’s match between the two a Street Fight.

So see you there for that!
