Sammy Guevara addresses infrequent AEW TV appearances

Sammy Guevara flies off a ladder during AEW Collision

He’s not featured on AEW programming as often as he used to be, but Sammy Guevara is ready to compete whenever he does get the call to come to TV.

After being one of the original four young pillars of the AEW roster, Guevara has split his time between ROH and AEW in recent years. We’ve only seen him work a few matches on AEW programming in 2026, though he did compete in a couple of title matches on Collision in May and June. Guevara addressed that infrequent usage during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm.

“Honestly, man, that’s obviously not my call,” Guevara responded when MuscleManMalcolm said he would like to see Guevara on Dynamite more often. “But whenever they do decide to call — I think the last time I was on AEW was when I wrestled Darby [Allin] for the World title. I was given a couple hours notice, and I just tried to do the best that I could, you know? And so anytime I go out there, I try to give you a show like you’ve never seen before. Because that’s what I do. I’m Sammy Guevara, ‘The Spanish God.’ You know, I think I’m the best, so, yeah.”

Sammy Guevara’s recent AEW TV appearances —

During Darby Allin’s AEW World Championship reign, Guevara challenged for the title on the May 16 episode of Collision in a bout that pitted two of AEW’s original pillars against each other. We also saw Guevara compete in a Trios title match on the June 6 episode of the show. The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) defeated La Faccion Ingobernable (Guevara, Rush & Dralistico) to retain.

Also in June, Guevara worked some matches for CMLL in Mexico and dropped the ROH Tag Team titles to Mistico & Mascara Dorada. Guevara held the belts with The Beast Mortos.

Guevara is a three-time TNT Champion in AEW. He told MuscleManMalcolm that his first reign in 2021 was his favorite time holding the belt. His third reign in 2022 lasted under two weeks, so that run is less memorable to him than the others.

The 32-year-old Guevara produces regular vlogs on YouTube, and this MuscleManMalcolm interview was filmed at a Pro Wrestling Junkie show where Guevara was the special guest referee for a dog collar match between Alan Angels and KJ Orso. The match was part of a storyline for Guevara’s vlog.
