WWE reveals Saturday Night’s Main Event opening video

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE’s history at Madison Square Garden is on display in the opening video for this weekend’s edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

On July 18, WWE returns to the “World’s Most Famous Arena” with SNME. The show airs live on Peacock in the United States and Netflix internationally at 8 p.m. Eastern time, and WWE has shared the video that will be opening the broadcast. It focuses on all of the WWE and sports history the venue has hosted, including the birth of Hulkamania and the 2025-2026 New York Knicks championship run.

“For generations, this building has been the heartbeat of New York,” commentator Joe Tessitore says. “A place where championships are won. Icons are born. And moments become memories that last forever. And now, on a red hot summer Saturday night in Manhattan, WWE returns home to Madison Square Garden.”

Knicks star Jalen Brunson — the NBA Finals MVP — will be at SNME for an appearance with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. It’s likely that we’ll see other Knicks there as well with this show happening during the same week as the Fanatics Fest sports convention.

Here is the announced lineup for tomorrow, along with the opening video:

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (July 18) —

  • CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn & Gunther
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella & Paige defend against Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)
  • No DQ match: Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh
  • Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
  • Roman Reigns & Jalen Brunson appear
