Janel Grant, Vince McMahon, WWE file for voluntary dismissal of lawsuit
Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE — which became one of the biggest stories in wrestling history and had a massive impact on the industry — is officially one step closer to being over.
As reported by Post Wrestling on Friday, the legal representatives for Grant, McMahon, and WWE have filed to voluntarily dismiss the suit with prejudice. This was expected to happen in the coming days after the sides agreed this week to move the matter to private arbitration. That arbitration process will provide a resolution to the case. If a settlement is reached, the terms could remain confidential.
The arbitration process will begin once the judge approves this voluntary dismissal.

- Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), Plaintiff Janel Grant, by and through her undersigned counsel, hereby files this voluntary dismissal of the above-captioned action. Plaintiff, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the ‘Parties’) stipulate and agree that this action and all claims pled herein are hereby dismissed with prejudice, but without prejudice as to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration in accordance with their agreement to arbitrate.
Janel Grant’s lawsuit —
Grant, a former employee of WWE, filed her lawsuit in January 2024 accusing McMahon of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. It resulted in McMahon resigning from WWE soon after. He is still a TKO shareholder but has not had any role in the company since his January 26, 2024 resignation.
