Nic Nemeth reveals creative uncertainty with KC Navarro rivalry for TNA World Championship
Nic Nemeth reflected on the dynamics between him and KC Navarro heading into their TNA rivalry. He praised Navarro’s injury recovery that led to a swifter return than anticipated.
During his interview on GOW MEDIA CLE Nemeth detailed working with Navarro following his ACL injury. While he was sidelined for most of 2026 he returned to TNA in April and feuded with Nemeth for the World Championship.
“KC is actually one of the guys that, he told me he looked up to me a long time ago, and I somewhat took him under my wing before he left for a while with the injury.”
“But that’s what separates people who long-term are in this business and people who have a couple-year run. He wants it and gets it. and has this injury that so many people could be down like hard and you go, ‘Am I ever coming back?’”
“We’re always saying that, but he actually busted his ass. He was just getting going. And it’s so easy mentally to be taken out of the game. And not only did he not do that, he came back better, stronger, smarter, quicker.”
Nemeth revealed that the direction of their storyline was initially unclear, with creative plans still being determined. He explained that he was unsure whether he would continue mentoring Navarro on-screen or eventually turn against him, but the uncertainty ultimately led to a more layered build toward their TNA World Championship match.
“We didn’t know if I was going to be mentoring him on TV. I didn’t know the situation creatively, or if I’m just going to turn on him and take his head off.”
“And we get to lead to a match. And I said, if I get a couple of minutes with this kid with the title on the line and the story is there, that couple the multiple weeks of we had months first with almost taking him under my wing, but then slowly turning that into like, ‘Hey, man, I’m not your hero, but I’m trying to teach you some stuff,’ into, ‘Alright, I got to knock the sh*t out of you and we’re going to have a title match.’”
