Major AEW star announced for MLP Northern Rising event

A major All Elite Wrestling star has been confirmed for the upcoming MLP Northern Rising event on October 3. Adam Copeland will be appearing at the TMU’s Mattamy Athletic Centre for the show (which is formerly known as Maple Leaf Garden).

No matches have been confirmed for the Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling event as of writing, but Cope will likely be featured either in the main event or a top singles match on the card. MLP did tease that this would be a big announcement, and arguably it has lived up to that billing (considering this is Cope’s first independent show in many, many years, with his last being in 2001).

This will be the second time that Maple Leaf Pro has held a Northern Rising card, with the first having taken place in 2025. That show had the likes of Zack Sabre Jr. vs Jonathan Gresham, Gisele Shaw vs Kylie Rae, Mike Bailey vs Gabe Kidd vs Michael Oku (which got a ****1/2 in the Wrestling Observer that week), Serena Deeb vs Miyu Yamashita and BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay & Drilla Moloney) vs. The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson).

Before then, Copeland will be teaming with Christian Cage to defend their AEW Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks at AEW All In from Wembley Stadium at the end of August.
