AEW Collision live results: Will Ospreay vs. Daniel Garcia
AEW Collision is live on a Thursday night tonight.
For the second straight night, the promotion will be inside the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit, Michigan. One day after hosting Dynamite at the venue, AEW has three matches scheduled for this week’s edition of Collision.
Will Ospreay and Daniel Garcia will face off in singles action. The match comes after Ospreay elbowed Garcia in the face during a backstage segment on Wednesday night.
ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and her minions will also be in action. Athena, Billie Starkz and Diamante will face the Brawling Birds’ Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, who will team with Stardom’s Hazuki.
Members of the Bang Bang Gang will also face the Death Riders in a multi-person tag team match.
The announced lineup includes:
- Will Ospreay vs. Daniel Garcia
- Athena, Billie Starkz & Diamante vs. Alex Windsor, Jamie Hayter & Hazuki
- Bang Bang Gang vs. Death Riders

AEW Collision began with some unfamiliar music hitting and suddenly the Motor City Machine Guns have (re) debuted in AEW. You can tell the fans were waiting for this, popping very loudly for their hometown heroes. Chris Sabin took a mic and said that they were home in more ways than one, and Alex Shelley announced that they were finally All Elite. MCMG are about as natural a fit for AEW there can be, and this is excellent news.
The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, & Myron Reed) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona, & Bishop Kaun) for the AEW Trios Championship
Wentz started the match with Ricochet as the fans resumed their hatred of Ricochet, but Ricochet was not bothered this time, tagging out to Kaun and then running and hitting a tope con giro over the corner until the Rascalz on the floor. The Demand began beating on Wentz, making frequent tags. The Rascalz were able to take the offensive advantage with quick trios work, hitting flying stomps, and then a dive onto everyone one at a time before they went to break on TNT.
Bishop Kaun was able to lay out Xavier with Irish whips between the apron and guardrail behind the back of the referee before coming in, slamming him, and tagging out to Liona. Xavier hit a jawbreaker on Liona, but Xavier tagged back in, and while Xavier did an admirable job of fighting back, Liona and Kaun hit a back stabber and headbutt to the upper body combo as they came back from break.
Ricochet and Xavier exchanged attempts at moves until Xavier ducked under a Spirit Gun and tagged out to Myron Reed, who hit kicks on everyone, then draped Ricochet across the ropes and hit a flapjack of sorts before hitting a stundog millionaire on Liona and then a double cutter on GoA. Reed ducked under a lariat attempt form Ricochet, and Ricochet turned around into a triple superkick. Richochet hit a springboard splash on Wentz, but Wentz kicked out after a near fall. GoA set Wentz on their shoulders, but he escaped with a DDT after Ricochet was pulled from the apron. Reed then hit a flying cutter over the top rope onto the floor on Liona onto Ricochet and Kaun.
The Rascalz then hit some triple team moves on Ricochet, but Ricochet got his knees up on a spiral tap, and The Demand was able to isolate Xavier from there before squashing him (quite literally) in between Liona and Kaun before hitting Open the Gates on Xavier for the pinfall.
Result: The Demand defeated The Rascalz
A great start to AEW Collision, with the debut of MCMG and the excellent trios match.
–Lexy Nair was with Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly. All three men announced they were in the Continental Cup, and that they would be doing the ALS Ice Bucket challenge live on the air, nominating Lexy Nair, Tom Hardy, and Dominic Toretto (who OC and KOR did not realize was a fictional character).
–Tony Schiavone announced the Continental Cup, where it will be a 16-man tournament, where every match is drawn at random from the entries for the first round, and the Continental Championship will be on the line in the tournament. Jon Moxley has been entered, and Nigel McGuinness announced he would be participating as well. This tournament was supposedly inspired by the FIFA World Cup, and be a major test for Jon Moxley heading into AEW All In.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Nick Comoroto
Ciampa came out wearing a bandage that had blood on it. I think if his wound has been bleeding since Sunday he probably shouldn’t be wrestling, but as Jericho apparently drilled into his head with a power drill on PPV, I guess he is still bleeding. Comoroto immediately attacked, but it wasn’t long before Ciampa countered, hit a running knee, and pinned him.
–Hangman Adam Page was backstage and as he was about to talk about what happened last night, Brody King and Bandido walked up, thanking Hangman for his help in saving them from a beat down. Hangman said that he is trying to figure out what he wants to do, and maybe they should team together. Bandido said they should be called The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Brody King wondered which one was the ugly one as Hangman and Bandido shook their heads and walked away.
The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter, Alex Windsor) & Hazuki vs. Athena, Billie Starkz, and Diamante
Hayter and Athena started the match, and it broke down to an all out brawl shortly after a few exchanges between her and Athena and then Starkz and Hazkui. Hayter went for a tope suicida but Athena countered with an enziguri. Windsor hit a headbutt on Starkz, who fell off the entrance ramp and crashed to the ground. Diamante hit a DDT on Windsor, then Hazuki took out Diamante. Athena suplexed Hayter off the apron onto the floor. That looked brutal.
Hayter hit a Yakuza kick on Athena just before they came back from break and tagged out to Hazuki who ran wild all over the ring, hitting a code breaker on Diamante and Starkz at the same time. Athena came in and German suplexed Hazuki, and suddenly bodies were flying everywhere with German suplexes ending with Windsor hitting a German suplex on Starkz. Windsor and Diamante exchanged suplex attempts until Diamante hit a Chaos Theory.
The babyfaces then stacked Athena and her minions in the corner before hitting an assisted shotgun dropkick that sent Hazuki crashing into Diamante. Hazuki then hit a crossbody to the floor on Starkz and the Brawling Birds hit Diamante with a lariat combo but Athena broke it up. Athena tried to powerbomb Hazuki, but Hazuki countered out of it. Hazuki and Athena exchanged some hard strikes. This exchange saw both countering, doging, and ending with Hazuki hitting a German suplex on Athena. Excellent exchange. Windsor and Diamante fought with several standing switches until Windsor lifted her up and Hayter came in with a lariat, hitting Two Birds, One Stone for the pinfall.
Result: The Brawling Birds & Hazuki defeated Athena, Billie Starkz, & Diamante
–Divine Dominion came down to ringside and started attacking the Brawling Birds and Athena and the minions laid out Hazuki in the middle of the ring. Megan Bayne and Lena Kross posed over the fallen bodies of the Brawling Birds as Athena taunted Hazuki with the ROH World Women’s championship.
–The Demand was backstage, answering the challenge of Hangman Page and Brodido saying that they were going to face off with them at Grand Slam Mexico. The Lethal Swirl was there too, and Jay Lethal announced that he would face Komander and make sure Komander didn’t make it to AEW Grand Slam Mexico.
–The Conglomeration were on the Ice Bucket Challenge, and Rhino and the Insane Clown Posse came out to pour the ice on Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy, and Kyle O’Reilly. The fans chanted “Rebel” for her as the Conglomeration celebrated with ICP and Rhino.
The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, & Wheeler Yuta) (w/ Marina Shafir) vs. The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, & Colten Gunn)
Yuta got immense heat from the audience as he faced off with Austin Gunn, who moves more and more like his dad every time I see him. Robinson tagged in and hit a senton on Yuta. Robinson did an arm wringer on PAC before tagging out to Ace Austin. Austin did a fireman’s carry squat with both Yuta and PAC on his shoulders before hitting a Samoan drop for a 1-count on PAC. PAC yanked the hair of Austin and tagged out to Moxley, and the Death Riders then started the train of strikes in teh corner on Austin before sending him to the floor, allowing Marina Shafir to lay him out.
The Death Riders beat on Ace Austin throughout the break, including PAC doing Billy Gunn style crotch chops towards Gunn’s children. Moxley had Austin in a choke while the fans cheered him on until Mox pulled him up and Austin hit a spinning kick on Moxley before tagging out to Colten Gunn. Gunn took everyone out including hitting a dropkick on Castagnoli. Gunn hit a proto-plex on Yuta for a 2-count. Gunn went for the Fameasser on Yuta, but Moxley distracted him. Robinson tagged in and hit a crossbody on Yuta for a 2-count. Castagnoli took out Robinson and hit an uppercut on Austin Gunn. Castagnoli tried to suplex both Gunns, but they fought out and hit 310 to Yuma.
Colten Gunn went to hit the ropes but got low bridged by PAC who came in and hit Austin Gunn with a German suplex. Colten Gunn hit PAC with a Fameasser before Moxley came in, took him out, and hit a tope suicida. Ace Austin hit a kick on Moxley from the apron and then hit the ropes and a Fosbury Flop on Moxley. Robinson dodged a running knee from Yuta and started hitting jabs. Robinson countered a bite and rolled up Yuta and before anyone else could make it into the ring and got the victory!
Result: The Bang Bang Gang defeated The Death Riders
–As the Bang Bang Gang were celebrating, The Dogs ran down to attack, and as they were laying out Robinson, the Motor City Machine Guns ran down to make the save. They had chairs, and chased them all out of the ring. The Death Riders looked like they were going to attack the Machine Guns, but Moxley called them off, to the anger of Marina Shafir. David Finlay came in to attack, but the Gunns (Austin & Colten) hit 310 to Yuma on Finlay to save them.
–Tommaso Ciampa was backstage and said that he wanted to wrestle in the match against Andrade el Idolo next week to determine who is #1 in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In because he wants the AEW World Championship.
Kris Statlander vs. Aurora Teves
Teves tried to lay out Statlander with some kicks to open the match, but Statlander swept the legs and hit a stalling vertical suplex. Statlander then hit Staturday Night Fever before yelling into the camera that she would sees Persephone next week.
Result: Kris Statlander defeated Aurora Teves
–Mike Bailey was backstage facing off with Kyle Fletcher, and Lexy Nair asked him if he was worried about Bailey being at his best. Fletcher said that he wasn’t worried as he is the best AEW International Champion of all time. Bailey said that Fletcher was not at his best because he was still with the Don Callis family. Fletcher booted him in the face and they fought down to the ring, with Mike Bailey countering everything Fletcher did before Fletcher fled and Bailey posed with the AEW International Championship.
