WWE creative team reportedly under pressure following Raw this week
A new report suggests that several people working in WWE’s creative departments are under pressure following Monday’s episode of Raw.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported Thursday that the show at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles carried additional importance, as several Netflix executives were said to be in attendance.
One source reportedly described the opening segment featuring Paul Heyman, Oba Femi, and Brock Lesnar as “not a good look,” citing the microphone issues Heyman dealt with and the botched Fall From Grace spot.
It was also noted that the Danhausen and Joe Hendry segment “missed the mark” with Ryan Garcia’s appearance being considered “underwhelming and unnecessary” given the controversy surrounding the boxer.
Dave Meltzer addressed Raw’s weekly viewership in a subscriber exclusive post earlier this week. He noted that the show’s first-day numbers remained well below average, although they were slightly up from the July 20 episode. Meltzer wrote that WWE Raw continues to perform at all-time low levels and has not rebounded after airing against the World Cup and the recent Home Run Derby.
