Jacques Rougeau releases tribute video AEW declined to play at Redemption
Jacques Rougeau has released the tribute video that AEW wouldn’t play at Redemption in Montreal last Sunday.
The pre-show featured a tribute to four generations of the Rougeau family, with Jacques and Raymond both in attendance. Jacques was booed by the Montreal crowd, while Raymond received a positive response.
In Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that Jacques told AEW he would produce a tribute video to be played at the show. However, the video he produced featured AI-generated video, as well as footage AEW did not have the rights to, so AEW declined to air it.
This is said to have led to Jacques throwing a “tantrum” backstage and being warned by an AEW official that he would be thrown out.
Jacques has since posted the full tribute video to his Facebook page. At times, the video features a disclosure in the upper-right corner stating that AI was used to generate video from an original still picture.
