Sol Ruca reveals what Triple H told her after losing WWE Women’s Intercontinental title
Sol Ruca revealed what Triple H told her shortly after she lost the Women’s Intercontinental Championship during a recent interview.
Ruca recently appeared on WWE Radio’s Busted Open and said that following her loss of the title to Raquel Rodriguez on the July 27 edition of WWE Raw, Triple H spoke to her backstage and said the title change was not due to anything she had been doing wrong.
Ruca said:
“Triple H came to me afterwards, after the match, and was just like, ‘Hey, this isn’t because you’re doing anything wrong, but, you know, you just got to be a babyface and keep going up and just see what the next thing is.’“
“Everyone has been very, very supportive and really has been in my corner, and it has made me feel really good about it.”
Also during the interview, Bully Ray asked Ruca what has been the most difficult part of being called up to the main roster so far. She responded that it was easier to bounce ideas off people in NXT.
Ruca continued:
“I definitely think just character work. I feel like being an athlete, I’m so used to just being serious and, you know, you get told what to do, told what to wear, told how to act. Whereas here, it’s kind of, like, up to you. And within NXT, it’s kind of easier to bounce ideas off of people and, like, try new things because the risk isn’t as high.”
Ruca’s Intercontinental title reign lasted 57 days and included two successful title defenses. She defeated Becky Lynch for the belt at Clash in Italy on May 31. Her first defense was against Lyra Valkyria on the June 8 edition of Raw. She also successfully defended the title against Rodriguez on the July 6 episode of Raw.
