Oba Femi 'did not see' post-match endorsement from Brock Lesnar coming at WWE SummerSlam

In the main event of the 2026 WWE SummerSlam, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar.

In a short eleven-minute Hell in a Cell match, Femi stood tall over Lesnar and won their rubber match, taking his lead over Lesnar to 2-1. However, despite the violent match between the two, both the audience and Femi were surprised by Lesnar’s post-match reaction.

As the bout finished, Lesnar raised Femi’s hand and declared him as the promotion’s future while announcing himself as the past. Later, at the WWE SummerSlam post-show, Femi reacted to the entire scenario and Lesnar’s public endorsement.

The hug and the public endorsement was definitely a swerve. I did not see that coming. I knew that deep down Brock [Lesnar] has always respected me. He knows that deep down, I respect him as well,” Femi said.

Lesnar has competed in a total of three Hell in a Cell matches, once in 2002 and another one in 2015, both against The Undertaker. However, the match tonight at SummerSlam marked Lesnar’s first defeat in a Hell in a Cell match.
