Batista reportedly in talks for ‘God of War’ television series
Batista may soon be the God of War.
Variety reported on Monday that the former WWE star is currently in talks for the role of Kratos in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series based on the PlayStation video game series. Ryan Hurst, who was originally cast in the role earlier this year, suffered a torn bicep while filming. Amazon and Sony are looking to recast the part in order to resume production later this fall.

Prime Video has given God of War a two-season order. It will follow the story of the recent games that will see Kratos raise his ten-year-old son Atreus while battling Norse gods.
“Father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human,” the logline reads.
Batista became a successful actor after leaving pro wrestling full time in 2010, with his breakout role being Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then he has mainly focused on his acting career, though returned to WWE for a final match at WrestleMania 35 where he lost to Triple H.
In a recent interview, he shared that Hollywood feels like a ‘luxury’ compared to the grind in WWE.
