New Tag Team Champions crowned on WWE NXT
New Tag Team Champions were crowned on this week’s NXT.
Myles Borne and Tavion Heights defeated The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) to win the titles on Tuesday’s show. The finish had the referee eject Myka Lockwood and Jackson Drake at ringside. Their departure proved to be the tipping point of the match, as Heights soon connected with a belly-to-belly suplex to win the bout and the titles for his team.
Borne and Heights earned a NXT Tag Team title match after Borne defeated Kam Hendrix on last week’s NXT. Per an agreement with Robert Stone, they were granted the title match with the victory.
Uneasy friends
Since returning following an absence, Heights has been showing heel tendencies, laying out Tony D’Angelo and acting in a more agressive manner. Despite this, he has kept his relationship with Borne in tact, which spans back to their time as members of the No Quarter Catch Crew. Heights has been driven to win gold in NXT, causing friction between the two friends.
Borne is the current North American Champion, defeating Ethan Page back on the February 24 edition of NXT.
