Released WWE star lays out next move after exit: ‘I want to be in a TV wrestling company’
Joe Gacy revealed his wrestling plans after departing WWE, and reaction to all members of Wyatt Sicks being released.
While Gacy expressed interest in returning to indie wrestling, his primary focus is working for a televised wrestling company. He explained on the Insight Podcast that his WWE tenure changed his perspective about the industry, and he perceives himself as a ‘TV guy’.
“I would love to, given the opportunity. I think I’m excited to dip my toes back into indie wrestling. But for me, I mean, I think I’m a TV guy. I want to be on a TV production company. I want to be in a TV wrestling company. That’s how I see it. I just learned so much being with WWE that it’s kind of ingrained in me now. I was there for six years, so now they twisted my brain into seeing wrestling differently than I used to.”
Gacy exclaimed surprise at the entire Wyatt Sicks being released by WWE in April. He was initially shocked about Bo Dallas’ release but later learned about Dexter Lumis and other members.
“We were surprised as well, and I know we were talking about it. I’m shocked that they let all of us go. I’m shocked that they let Taylor go. I thought for sure if it’s gonna be us, he’ll still be there doing something. But it was strange because I remember it too. I was about to get a shower, and my phone rang and I saw it was a Stanford number. I was like well, that could either be good or bad. So I took a shower, got out of the shower, and then the group had a group chat. So I just texted in the group chat like, ‘Hey, did anyone else get a phone call?’ And I think it was Dexter, who was like, ‘Yep.’ I was like, ‘Is it what I think it is?’ And he was like, ‘Yep.’ I was like, all right, then. So I called them back and then had that conversation.”
