Update on Nick Aldis’ WWE in-ring future
It is believed that Nick Aldis will wrestle for WWE again.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported Thursday that the belief within WWE is that Aldis will return to the ring for the company at some point. However, one source noted that he might not wrestle again until 2027.
The report also noted that several people backstage see Aldis as being just as talented, if not more talented, than some of the wrestlers WWE regularly features on television. A number of people would reportedly like to see him have a significant in-ring run with the company.
Following his bout against Gunther, it was announced that Aldis had been reinstated as SmackDown General Manager. He made his first move back in the role the following night when he added Gunther and Kevin Owens to the number one contender’s match involving Sami Zayn and Finn Balor.
Aldis’ match against Gunther at WWE SummerSlam was his first bout in almost three years, dating back to an independent show he worked on October 7, 2023.
During a recent interview, Aldis noted that he was told approximately one month ahead of time that he would be wrestling the match.
