Blake Monroe reveals why she hasn’t appeared on Love Island despite approaches
Extremely popular in the British Isles and the USA, the reality TV show Love Island is one of the most talked-about shows, but WWE’s Blake Monroe has yet to appear in one.
Despite the show’s popularity and rising success, former AEW wrestler and current WWE Superstar Blake Monroe has rejected the chances of appearing on Love Island.
Speaking on TMZ Sports’ Inside The Ring, Monroe opened up about the entire situation and the reason why she rejected appearing on the show.
“I could never, ever. I got asked to do Love Island many, many years ago and didn’t do it. Then I got asked again, and I thought about it, but I realized I’m crazy.
“I feel like if you’re on a show to find love, people go on to build a career. If you actually did go on to find love and you like a guy and you’re getting on, then they do those challenges where they’re eating each other and making out with your friends,” Monroe added.
“I can’t. I’m not sitting there for that. I don’t share, so I don’t think it would be for me. I’d probably get kicked off pretty much instantly.”
WWE’s Blake Monroe has advice for other wrestlers
In the same interview with TMZ Sports, Monroe opened up and shared advice for all the other wrestlers in the industry. Asking them to not date fellow wrestlers, she said, “Don’t date wrestlers. That would be my advice.”
“I might, but just a word of advice, don’t date them. I think the reason wrestlers date each other is because nobody understands our schedule and our business. You’re on the road a lot. What we do is a little provocative, and you kind of have to sell yourself,” Monroe added.
“I feel like a lot of guys would get jealous if their girl was doing that, and a lot of women might find it hard. It’s like dating an NBA player or whatever. It would be hard to do. But don’t you find that in any workplace people date? Everyone always loves to say that it’s like Love Island backstage, but in any workplace people are going to date because of the proximity. You’re just with people all the time. That’s how you fall in love.”
After a successful run in AEW, Monroe joined WWE NXT last year before earning a main roster jump earlier this year.
