Update on Brock Rechsteiner’s potential WWE future | Exclusive
Dave Meltzer says he expects Brock Rechsteiner to join WWE in the near future.
Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the son of Scott Steiner and cousin of Bron Breakker’s wrestling future on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
Rechsteiner, who signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent wide receiver this offseason, was recently suspended for six games. The Saints confirmed that Rechsteiner was suspended for violating the NFL-NFLPA performance-enhancing substances policy.
Meltzer noted on the show that Rechsteiner was already considered a “long shot” to make the Saints and believes the suspension will hurt his chances further.
“I expect he will be WWE bound within a couple months.”
Regarding Rechsteiner’s suspension and his chances of making the Saints, Meltzer said:
“I mean, suspended or not, he was a long shot to make the team. I mean, he wasn’t drafted or anything like that. The suspension can’t help his odds of making the team at all. He was suspended for six games, so when it comes to being cut, he’s probably getting cut.”
Meltzer continued:
“But his future is probably WWE, and he’s said as much as well. I think he’s giving the football a shot. It’s the exact same thing that Bronson had, where he wasn’t suspended, obviously, but he was in the Ravens camp and he was cut. He was a long shot to make it, undrafted. Great athlete. I mean, his athletic numbers, Bronson’s athletic numbers were great. He had very good speed, great strength, but too short for his position essentially for the NFL, which, that’s just how they viewed it. And his cousin is a wide receiver, good-looking, good body. But yeah, I mean, I could see him in WWE easily and getting fast-tracked just like Bron.”
Brock Rechsteiner expresses WWE interest
Rechsteiner signed a WWE NIL deal in February 2025. In an interview earlier this year, Rechsteiner said he has spoken with Breakker about entering the wrestling business after his football career is over.
“I work out with him all the time back home. I go fishing with him a lot, because he moved back to Georgia. And he really convinced me to, once I’m done playing football, he said play football as long as I can and once I’m done playing football, get into the wrestling business.”
