Dominik Mysterio compared to Dolph Ziggler and The Miz: “being multifaceted can work against you”
WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett recently discussed the rumors that Dominik Mysterio is “unhappy” with his current booking on the main roster, compared to how he is being portrayed in AAA. Speaking on his My World podcast, Jarrett would compare Mysterio to the likes of Dolph Ziggler and The Miz , saying that sometimes being “multifaced” and having the ability to do multiple roles can actually work against you in WWE.
“If he’s [Dominik] really frustrated, then I think he has enough equity in his career…he’s not a newcomer anymore, he’s been there five, six, seven years, and he’s delivered. He may be playing the role of helping Danhausen to go through this. You can go back through the history of the business and, sometimes, if you are so versatile, ala Dolph Ziggler, ala The Miz, if you’re so versatile, they [WWE creative] know, ‘all right, we’re going to run him with Danhausen’ [because they can make it work] maybe even for a year.
“When you have a two or a three hour show and you’re looking to, I hate to say fill segments…but that is what it gets down to. I know they’re [WWE] going to put all eyes [on every product]. They’ve got multiple PLEs, but when you’re in this process of churning out [content] week in and week out on those different teams…when you look on that roster and say, ‘Oh God, I got to do a two segment, man, Dolph, I’ll take you. I’ll take you because [I know] it’ll be quality.’
“And it’s kind of a mixed bag, the value of being multi-talented and multifaceted and being able to be plugged in and played top to the bottom of the card can work against you.”

Jarrett added that he does see Dom getting the opportunity to play more serious roles on the main roster, but
“He’ll [Dom] pivot from that and slotback to where he needs to be, because he’s that good. Sometimes the talented guys that are multi-talented play multiple roles because they’re the best at it. And then they’ll get them back up the creative ladder.”
