Former NXT wrestler Marina Shafir made her AEW debut at Friday’s Dark tapings in Orlando, Florida.

In her debut match for AEW, Shafir lost to Kris Statlander at Friday’s tapings. The match will air on a future episode of AEW Dark.

Shafir was released by WWE during a round of NXT roster cuts this June. Her final match for WWE took place this January, with Shafir & Zoey Stark losing to Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart in the first round of the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Shafir officially began her career in pro wrestling when she reported to the WWE Performance Center in May 2018. She’s one of the Four Horsewomen of MMA with Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and Jessamyn Duke.

At Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 7 this October, Shafir defeated Masha Slamovich. Shafir has also wrestled for Championship Wrestling From Atlanta since her WWE release.
