AEW Dynamite airs live tonight from Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

The company's first event of 2020 is being branded as the Homecoming edition of the show, with AEW being headquartered in Jacksonville.

A packed lineup has been announced for the event. Cody vs. Darby Allin is a featured bout. The two teamed on the final Dynamite of 2019 in a winning effort against The Butcher and The Blade. They also met once before in singles action in AEW, going to a 20-minute draw at Fyter Fest in June.

Jon Moxley is set to take on Trent in singles action. Moxley is also expected to respond to Chris Jericho's offer to join The Inner Circle. Jericho has promised a surprise for Moxley on the show as well.

The AEW Women's World Championship will be on the line Riho as defends in a four-way match against Hikaru Shida, Nyla Rose, and Britt Baker. A previously announced Riho vs. Kris Statlander title match was changed when Statlander was pulled due to having a prior booking for Bar Wrestling.

Also announced are Sammy Guevara vs. Dustin Rhodes in a singles match, and The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega vs. The Lucha Brothers and PAC in a six-man tag.

MJF is scheduled to appear and will give his stipulations for a future match against Cody. Taz will also be on hand providing guest color commentary.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The show opened with a video package detailing The Elite's string of bad luck, from Jericho winning the AEW title, to getting destroyed by the Creepers, to Cody being betrayed by MJF. The video said that tonight will prove whether or not The Elite is still elite.

We got a Darby Allin video package before his entrance. He was accompanied to the entrance stage by a singer. Taz identified him as the singer for Ghost Machine, I think. There was no graphic identifying him. Excalibur thanked Taz for explaining who the random dude was.

Arn Anderson appeared on the entrance stage, then Cody's music hit. Arn was identified as the Head Coach of the Nightmare Family, a founding member of the 4 Horsemen, and a legend.

CODY DEFEATED DARBY ALLIN

Cody and Allin locked up. Cody used a shoulder block for a quick one count. The two traded a series of cradles. Each teased their finisher, both men blocked.

Cody dumped Allin over the top rope to the floor. Arn seems to be doing a football coach gimmick. He carries a stack of papers and covers his mouth with them when he's coaching Cody so that his lips can't be read.

Allin dropped Cody on the apron, then nailed him with a tope suicida. Cody got up selling his left arm. Allin jumped off the ropes into a kick from Cody. Allin went right back on offense, continuing to attack the left arm.

Cody used a figure four. Allin reached under the bottom rope and Cody gave up the hold. Allin hit a series of kicks to the left arm. Allin used a fujiwara armbar. Cody forced a break.

Allin exposed a turnbuckle. He teased sending Cody into the buckle. Cody shoved Allin off. Allin landed on his feet on the ramp. Allin hit a springboard crossbody. Cody reversed into a cover and a two count.

Cody hit a Cody Cutter for a two count at the ten minute mark. The ropes might be slick as both guys have had unsteady footing on springboard moves. Cody hit an inverted superplex for a two count.

During an ad break, Cody again used a figure four. Allin forced a break. Cody hit a slam on the ramp, then tossed Allin back inside. Cody teased a superplex. Allin turned it into a sunset bomb. They did a lengthy double down until the ad break ended.

Allin hit a stunner. He teased a Coffin Drop. Cody rolled to the apron. Allin then hit the Coffin Drop on the apron. Cody may have gotten his knees up. It was unclear from the replay and the announcers weren't sure whether to sell it.

Cody tried a Cody Cutter, Allin blocked Cody hit Cross Rhodes but Allin kicked out at two.

Cody charged into the exposed buckle. Allin went for a Coffin Drop. Arn jumped on the apron and started slapping his knees. Cody got his knees up on the move, then used a schoolboy for the pin.

Good match. These guys work well together. Allin is a superstar.

JR threw to Jenn Decker backstage. She interviewed SCU. SCU did a footbal-themed promo. They said the Young Bucks brought great offense but they beat them with great defense.

Sammy Guevara popped in and challenged Chistopher Daniels to a match next week.

As Nyla Rose entered for the title match, they showed replays of the actions that got her suspended last month.

AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: RIHO DEFEATED NYLA ROSE, HIKARU SHIDA & BRITT BAKER TO REATIN THE TITLE

Rose grabbed Riho's title belt and knocked her to the floor with it before the opening bell. Rose set up a table on the floor. Rose powerbombed Riho onto Baker and covered for a two count Shida broke up the pinfall.

Rose hit a guillotine knee drop off the top rope to Shida. Rose put Shida on the table, then hit a senton through the table. Riho hit a doube stomp from the top to the apron on Rose. Baker hit a draping DDT on Rose, then went for Lockjaw. Rose powerbombed out and covered for a two count.

Riho hit a pair of double stomps on Rose for a near fall Baker hit Riho with a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Shida superplexed Baker from the apron back into the ring. Shida hit a backbreaker on Baker. Rose hit a slam on Shda, then slammed Riho onto Shida. Rose went for a swanton bomb but missed.

Riho hit a meteora on Rose for a two count. Shida hit Riho with a falcon arrow for a two count. Baker hit a superkick on Shida and went for Lockjaw. Shida turned it into a cradle for a near fall. Riho jumped on top of Baker and trapped her in a cradle for the pin. Another good match. All action. Any perceived weaknesses were well-hidden.

Baker kicked out immediately after the three count.

Rose attacked Riho after the match. She hit a second rope splash through a table on the champion.

The announcers threw to Alex Marvez backstage. Marvez asked Joey Janela a question. The audio was awful, but it didn't really matter. Penelope Ford hit Janela with a low blow from behind. Ford and Kip Sabian walked off together.

**********

We got a Dark Order video package. Uno was addressing an "exalted one" and said that the mission was done. They have decimated The Elite. The announcers did well to drive the point of the video home after, as I would not have picked up on the exalted one reference. So it appears Dark Order are serving a higher power.

JON MOXLEY DEFEATED TRENT

The two traded headlock takeovers. Moxley hit some chops. Trent hit double knees for a two count. Moxley dropped Trent on the top rope chest-first before a commercial break. Moxley used a single-leg crab during the break. We saw some action picture-in-picture before a full ad break.

Back from break, Trent hit a tope. The two traded powerbombs for near falls. Orange Cassidy jumped in the ring for a spot, leading to Trent hitting a knee strike and a spike piledriver for a two count.

Moxley came back with a Paradigm Shift on the ramp, then hit a second in the ring for the pin.

Not sure why the number one contender is having a long back-and-forth match with Trent, but okay.

**********

Sammy Guevara came to the ring while Moxley was still celebrating. Guevara threw to a pre-taped video from Chris Jericho.

Jericho said he knows Moxley coud join the Nightmare Collective, but he wants to offer him the position of executive vice president of The Inner Circle.

Jericho offered Moxley a Ford GT with a MOX vanity plate. Moxley said he's always considered Jericho a friend, and he'll answer Jericho in person next week.

Sammy Guevara did a Love Actually spoof during the commercial break.

Guevara taunted Dustin Rhodes, who then attacked him at the opening bell of their match.

SAMMY GUEVARA DEFEATED DUSTIN RHODES

This was more of a backdrop for an angle and commercial breaks than an actual match.

Dustin hit a series of punches and a flip dive off the apron. Jake Hager came to the ring and stared down Rhodes. Guevara used the distraction to take over. Guevara used a cradle for a near fall, then hit some chops.

Guevara missed a charge into the corner. Rhodes grabbed a chair and appeared to swing it, but the picture-in-picture cut away, so who knows?

Back from break, Guevara had a chinlock applied. Guevara missed with a double stomp off the top. Rhodes hit a snap powerslam.

Rhodes hit some signature offense, including an inverted atomic drop and a punch to the throat. Rhodes hit a spinebuster for a two count. Guevara hit a standing shooting star for a two count.

Rhodes hit a destroyer on the apron. He went for a cover, but Hager jumped on the apron. Rhodes sent Guevara to the floor crashing into Hager.

Rhodes teased the old kick to the family jewels in the corner, now known as the Natural Kick. The ref jumped in the path of Rhodes before he could hit the kick. Hager jumped in and hit a low blow while Guevara took the ref. Guevara covered for the pin.

**********

JR threw to Jenn Decker. Decker was interviewing Private Party at a bar. Hangman Page was behind the bar. Private Party and Page jawed at each other, further teasing a Page heel turn. Again the audio in this segment was terrible.

**********

MJF and Wardlow entered. After a break, MJF cut a promo.

MJF said that roles have reversed and Cody needs him now. MJF said the only thing standing in the way of their match are a few tiny stipulations.

Stipulation 1: They wrestle at Revolution. If Cody touches MJF before the Revolution show, no match.

Stipulation 2: Cody has to beat Wardlow in a solid steel cage match.

Stipulation 3: Cody has to get on all fours and let MJF whip him ten times live on TNT.

Well then.

MJF said the scars from the leather of his belt will remind Cody that MJF is better than him and he knows it. A very good promo.

**********

Jenn Decker interviewed Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt and Luchasaurus. Jungle Boy said he's coming off the biggest match of his career. This year will be big for the three of them as a team and as individuals.

Luchasaurus said something that was inaudible.

**********

Alex Marvez interviewed Riho backstage. Britt Baker interrupted and verbally assaulted Riho for taking time off. Baker said she's been carrying the division and her dental practice on the side while Riho pops in and out. Riho said something. Michael Nakazawa translated. Couldn't hear him.

These promos appeared to be pre-taped, which really makes the persistent audio issues less forgivable.

**********

Hangman Page joined the commentary team with drink in hand. A graphic nothed that he's been drinking.

Private Party vs. Hangman Page and Kenny Omega was announced for next week.

Main event time.

KENNY OMEGA & THE YOUNG BUCKS DEFEATED PAC & THE LUCHA BROTHERS

Omega and Pentagon began. Omega slapped Penta with his own glove. They traded chops. Omega hit a double dropkick and a double Kotaro Krusher on both Penta and Fenix.

Fenix and Nick tagged in and traded shoulder tackles. They had a hot sequence, trading arm drags and dropkicks. Fenix hit a rolling dropkick. They traded clotheslines and high kicks. The story being told was that these two know each other's playbook.

During a break, the Bucks and Omega worked over Fenix. Fenix managed a tag to Penta who hit a destroyer on Omega right before they returned from the commercial.

PAC hit a space flying tiger drop. The Lucha Bros and PAC went to work on Omega. Omega made a hot tag to Nick. Nick was absolutely on fire. Nick hit a pop-up destroyer. The Bucks then hit stereo destroyers on both Lucha Bros.

Omega and PAC tagged in and traded hard strikes. PAC hit a snap German. Omega hit a V-Trigger to the back of the head, then a snap dragon. Omega hit a powerbomb. PEnta broke up a pinfall attempt.

Penta hit slingblades on Matt and Nick, then a backstabber on Omega. Fenix and Penta teased their finish. The Bucks blocked. Omega hit a snap dragon on Fenix. Fenix hit a pop-up cutter on Omega.

PAC hit Omega with a Black Arrow and made a cover. The Bucks saved.

PAC used the Brutalizer. Matt broke it up. Fenix tagged in and tried a springboard kick. Omega kicked him out of the air, then hit a One-Winged Angel for the pin.

A great main event and much-needed win for the Bucks and Omega.

Cody came to the ring to celebrate with The Elite. They all invited Page to join them, but he declined.

This was a great show. Lots of good wrestling, and none of the timing issues and angles during breaks that have plagued the show over the last month. If they can just fix the audio on their backstage segments, they'll finally be firing on all cylinders.
