Davey Richards vs. TJP added to MLW Battle Riot tapings

MLW has revealed who Davey Richards will be facing in his debut for the promotion.

It was announced today that Richards vs. TJP will take place at MLW's Battle Riot tapings on Saturday, July 10. The tapings are being held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It will be the first MLW event with fans in attendance since March 2020.

MLW announced last month that Richards had signed with them and would be debuting at the Battle Riot tapings. Richards returned to professional wrestling this year for the first time since 2017.

Richards is a former ROH World Champion, a five-time former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion, a three-time former ROH Tag Team Champion, and a two-time former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.

In addition to facing Richards, TJP has also been confirmed for the 40-man Battle Riot match that's taking place at the Philadelphia tapings. The winner will receive an MLW World Heavyweight Championship shot whenever they want it. The title is currently held by Jacob Fatu.

Here's the updated card for the Battle Riot tapings:

  • 40-man Battle Riot match (Alex Hammerstone, King Muertes, Richard Holliday, Zenshi, Lee Moriarty, TJP, Gringo Loco, Arez, and Kevin Ku confirmed thus far)
