Mance Warner confirms MLW release request

During a podcast appearance Monday, Mance Warner confirmed that he has asked for his release from MLW.

While promoting his own new podcast, Warner didn’t give much in the way of details but said, “you’ve seen that on dirt sheets and that’s kind of where we’re at right now.” He didn’t seem to think he had been granted that request nor when his contract was up. He also didn’t articulate why he wanted his release.

A presence in the company since 2019, Warner was not announced for the recent MLW restart and is no longer listed on their roster page. His last MLW outing was a Tijuana street fight tag team match as he and Savio Vega lost to Mortiz and Pagano at the MLW/AAA Super Series taped in March.

The 32-year-old has been active on the indies since June and has upcoming dates for both GCW and IWA Mid-South.

Several MLW talents also asked for their release this year including Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr. Following two losses after their November restart, MLW announced they were parting ways with Smith Jr. as his contract is up at the end of the year while Pillman Jr. has been working regularly for AEW and on the indies, but there’s been no mention of his release.
