Will Ospreay set to make MLW debut this fall

A former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is headed to Major League Wrestling as former IWGP Champion Will Ospreay will make his debut this fall.

Although specifics weren't given, Alicia Atout announced the impending debut for the 28-year-old in a special Embedded segment on Thursday's Fightland Vice TV special. MLW's next event is Intimidation Games, set for November 6th in Philadelphia, which could be the show he debuts at.

Ospreay has been in and out of the United States during the latter half of 2021, working mainly NJPW Strong shows.

This will be the first time the "Aerial Assassin" has appeared in MLW as well as being the first time he has appeared in a major U.S.-based company since early-2019.

Ospreay has spent a good chunk of his 11-year career with New Japan Pro Wrestling where he is a former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion as well as a one-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Ospreay has also appeared for Progress, Rev Pro, Ring Of Honor, PWG and CZW.

Ospreay has not wrestled in Japan since May 4th when he successfully defended his IWGP title against Shingo Takagi. In that match, he sustained a neck injury and as a result, he vacated the title on May 20th.
