Ace Austin comments on joining AEW

AEW’s newest roster member is thanking fans for their support as he enters this new chapter of his career.
Ace Austin — best known for his time in TNA Wrestling as one half of ABC — made his AEW debut by losing to Ricochet on the most recent episode of Collision. It was announced that Austin is officially signed to an AEW contract, with Tony Khan calling his debut match “excellent.”
In a partially in-character statement posted to his social media accounts today, Austin commented on joining AEW and said he’s more than up for the challenge of being in the promotion.
“Yeah guys; unfortunately I didn’t ‘win’ my @aew debut match. Which just means I have to try harder & be smarter next week because what I did ‘win’ was a sweet contract that will give me more chances to win matches & make a nice living on a huge stage,” he wrote.
“AEW is full of unbelievably skilled talent; I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I am more than up for the challenge. Thank you for the incredible love & support. It means the world to me. Thank you for the hate & whining too. It keeps my name trending.”
The 28-year-old Austin was a three-time TNA Tag Team Champion with Chris Bey, who has been recovering from a broken neck since last October. Bey showed support for his friend in a comment on his Instagram post today: “Always Been Champion”
Austin had his last match for TNA back in May of this year. He’s also competed for NJPW in his career.
