Adam Copeland releases statement on match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Adam Copeland says he’s going to “soak it all in” at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
The 51-year-old is set to team with his longtime friend Christian Cage against Kip Sabian and Killswitch, who is replacing the injured Nick Wayne, on the show. He released a statement via Instagram on Saturday reflecting on the last time he wrestled in London, noting that he has been on a ‘long drought’ in the city.
Copeland wrote:
“The last time I wrestled in London was 2010 against @chrisjerichofozzy and Jake Hagar(Jack Swagger) for the World Heavyweight Championship. I’ve had a long drought here. Tomorrow that all changes when I team up with @christian4peeps for the first time since 2011 at @aew#forbiddendoor2025 vs @thekipsabian and Killswitch. I’ve seen some familiar faces and had some really nice interactions with the folks here this week. It’s good to see you all again. I have to treat every time I perform abroad as the last time I could wrestle in that city. So tomorrow I plan to soak it all in. Bring some loud lungs London. Let’s have some fun.”
Copeland’s last win in London, England was in 2009 when he defeated Kofi Kingston in a match taped for WWE Superstars at the 02 Arena.
Copeland frequently mentions not having much time left in his career. On July 1, he celebrated his 33rd anniversary in wrestling, noting that his career “won’t last a lot longer.” On the Sam Roberts show in January 2024, he mentioned only having a “two-year window” left on his in-ring career.
“We’re looking at like a two-year window here to be able to get as much done as I can get done, tell as many stories as I can, try and help talent along the way with that.”
