AEW & DC Comics announce new Justice League crossover comic book series

AEW and DC Comics have announced a new crossover series.

The Justice League Meets AEW is being marketed as a “two-issue Comic Book Event” and an exclusive preview will be released at New York Comic Con, which runs from October 9 to 12.

In a press release announcing the news, AEW stars Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, “Hangman” Adam Page, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, Orange Cassidy, and Kenny Omega were listed as featured in the comic. DC characters include Aquaman, Batman, Nightwing, Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and John Stewart, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn. The plot involves AEW and DC comic book stars having to “recover the Big Galactic Belt and prevent a cosmic catastrophe.”

The comic will be available at ShopAEW.com and comic book retailers. It was written by Steve Orlando, illustrated by Travis Mercer, with covers by Lucas Meyer.

As part of the collaboration, AEW will also promote DC KO in October, a comic series centered on a 32-person tournament of DC characters. AEW-variant covers for the series will be available as well.

DC will also serve as the presenting sponsor for AEW Full Gear on November 22.

Tony Khan and several AEW wrestlers will take part in a panel discussion at NYCC on October 10 about “where the worlds of wrestling and comics converge.” Meet and greets with AEW stars are scheduled for the following day.
