AEW determines top two World Championship contenders

Though it doesn’t have a date or a location yet, we now know what All Elite Wrestling’s first World Championship match will be.

Chris Jericho and Hangman Page were set up as the two top contenders to the AEW World title at Double or Nothing tonight. Jericho defeated Kenny Omega in the main event, while Page won the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show.

AEW announced earlier this week that the Jericho vs. Omega winner would face the Casino Battle Royale winner at a later date to determine their first World Champion.

Page had originally been scheduled to face PAC at Double or Nothing, but their match was canceled and instead took place for Wrestle Gate Pro in Nottingham, England last weekend. PAC got himself disqualified, then attacked Page’s leg in a post-match angle.

The AEW World Championship belt was also unveiled tonight, with Bret Hart making an appearance and showing off the title.
