AEW World Champion MJF will defend against Kevin Knight in a match that will kick off the broadcast. AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla will defend her title against former champion Thunder Rosa.

AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will face Hechicero. Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy will team up to take on The Dogs, Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors.

In the women’s tag team division, The Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, will face The IInspiration, Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay, who will be making their AEW television in-ring debuts after having previously wrestled at the House Rules show in Australia.

Hangman Adam Page is also scheduled to be in action tonight, though his opponent has yet to be named.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 p.m. Eastern.

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Tony Schiavone as they run down tonight’s card. Footage of Collision last weekend was shown and how we got to MJF vs. Kevin Knight for the AEW Men’s World Title, which kicks us off tonight with limited commercial interruptions.

MJF vs. AEW Trios Champion Kevin Knight for the AEW Men’s World Title

(MJF found a way to retain by hook or by crook, while this was an excellent showing, even in defeat for Knight, who more than held his own with the AEW World Champion. Even though he’s been a tag team guy, Knight certainly has what it takes to be a main event player for AEW.)

After MJF hit an early arm drag, it was Knight who dished out three of his own before hitting three shoulder blocks into near falls. MJF thought he had an arm drag, but Knight reversed into an arm bar. Clean break in the corner from Knight, allowing a MJF cheap shot, only he played to the crowd, allowing Knight to stomp out MJF before quickly going up top for a UFO Splash, but no one in the pool. Kitchen sink delivered, as MJF followed with his running thrust to the face (which he referred to as The Bris in a recent interview). Knight avoided another kitchen sink into a school boy for two, but ran into a MJF flapjack. Continuing to target the midsection, Knight takes multiple Bret Hart chest style corner buckles. MJF ran into a corner boot, allowing Knight to connect on a flying clothesline off the second into a double down.

Knight hit a picture-perfect dropkick, kip-up and stalling bodyslam, followed by a leaping splash for two. MJF took a powder, but Knight was right there to clear the top rope for a Tope Suicida. Knight quickly brought MJF back inside for a UFO Splash attempt, but MJF rolled back to the opposite side and went back to the kitchen sink. Hanging up Knight sternum first over the top rope, MJF wanted a Heatseeker, Knight shoved out and spiked MJF with a DDT for two. MJF responded with a Water Wheel Drop and F5 for a near fall of his own. Knight nearly caught MJF with a backslide for two, as each traded a series of near falls until Knight popped MJF with a thrust kick to the outside. Knight managed to clear the top with a crazy impressive clothesline to the floor, as both are down heading into commercial.

Things return with Knight being sent ribs first into the barricade, as MJF trash talked the crowd before charging, when Knight hit a moonsault off the guard rail. Knight went up top, but was crotched, as MJF joined him, but found himself trapped in the Tree of Woe. Knight scrambled to the other side of the ring and hit a Coast to Coast before hitting the UFO Splash. In doing so, MJF kicked referee Bryce into the ropes where he fell throat first, causing there to be a visible pin, but no count until MJF finally kicked out at two. Knight went up for another UFO Splash, but this time, MJF got the knees up, as he quickly hit the Heatseeker to retain the title.

Post-match, MJF tossed Bryce out of the ring and was about to use the Dynamite Diamond Ring on Knight when Hangman Adam Page showed up at the entrance way. Speedball Mike Bailey was behind MJF, who he caught with a thrust kick, sending MJF out of the ring, as Bailey helped Knight up with MJF scrambling away.

Match Result: MJF defeated Kevin Knight to retain the AEW Men’s World Title

Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. The Dogs (Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors)

(At first, I wondered why this wasn’t a No DQ match, but the post-match made sense to why the babyface duo got the win before ultimately being laid out. The answer to where David Finlay will wind up after his NJPW contract expired has officially been answered and The Dogs have a new member in their ranks. I’m looking forward to seeing the chaos these three can cause in AEW.)

Cassidy & Allin charged at The Dogs in the entrance prior to the bell, as Kidd quickly set-up the ring steps next to the time keeper’s table. Cassidy saved his partner, as Allin sprinted, launching Connors with a shotgun dropkick into the LED Board, but missed the follow-up, as Connors Pounced Allin into the railing. Kidd brought Cassidy up the steps and hung him with a guillotine choke, until Connors ran in from out of frame with a Spear off the steps through the table. Bell sounds back inside to start the match, as Allin was turned inside out with a lariat before spiking him with a Fisherman’s Buster. Connors & Kidd stood tall, as Cassidy was tended to by the doctor heading to break.

Back from commercial, The Dogs kept Allin isolated, as Kidd placed him on the top rope, shoved him over and Allin took a nasty spill clipping his head on the apron. Cassidy has recovered enough to get back to the apron, as Allin is about to be whipped by Connors, but referee Paul Turner took it away. The distraction allowed Allin to whip Connors with his belt and make the lukewarm tag to Cassidy, who threw little kicks to The Dogs before planting them both with a double hurricanrana. Top rope cross body hit Kidd before Connors spun out of a DDT, but ate a PK followed by Beach Break for two, as Kidd broke the count before waffling Allin on the apron with a blindside.

Kidd seemed to block a Stundog, but was right in position for Allin to fly in with a Code Red. Cassidy took out Kidd with a Tope Suicida, Allin hit Connors with an over-the-top Stunner and Cassidy followed with a spinning DDT. Allin quickly hit a Coffin Drop outside onto the pile, as Allin threw Connors back inside to eat an Orange Punch for the pin.

Post-match, David Finlay appears, cracking Allin & Cassidy with a shillelagh, as Kidd & Connors lifted Allin up to get hit in the face. Cassidy & Allin are stacked on one another as The Dogs stand tall making a statement.

Match Result: Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin defeated Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors when Cassidy pinned Connors

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Bandido & Andrade El Idolo talking about their first time meeting at Revolution. Bandido said this match means a lot to him, he’s looked up to Andrade and this will be a dream come true. Andrade said he heard Bandido is one of the best wrestlers alive, but he doesn’t know if he wants to fight or a selfie. Andrade said before he answers, he has a call to answer and walks off.

The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor) vs. The IInspiration (Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee)

Lee & McKay cut a promo earlier in the day telling The Birds they don’t have the balls and to stand up or step aside. They made their entrance and demanded their music play again so they could dance, which just pissed off Hayter & Windsor, who wasted no time chopping the hell out of The IInspiration. Slingshot on McKay into a Hayt-breaker, as Windsor followed with a running lariat. McKay & Lee were sandwiched in the middle of the ring before taking Two Birds One Stone, as The Birds stacked them on top of each other for the squash win.

This was the most dominant The Birds have looked since forming, as I guess this is the role for The IInspiration, which I’m actually ok with, a tag team with a name that can put over teams rising the tag ranks.

Match Result: The Brawling Birds defeated The IInspiration

Hangman Adam Page vs. Marty Snow

Bell sounded, Page hit a running boot and a Buckshot Lariat to win in record time.

Post-match, Page took the mic and said he’s going to do to MJF what his parents should’ve done years ago, teach him a lesson. Page warns MJF that in Texas Death, he has no conscious, as he’ll rip, tear and only let him lie when he is finished with him. MJF is the World Champion, so surely that shouldn’t scare him. Since MJF was itching to punch someone in the head earlier with his diamond ring, put it back on and show him what he will do at Revolution.

MJF walks out and said it’s bad enough he has to be in a C-Tier Town like El Paso and reminds Page that he just whooped his boy Kevin Knight’s ass. MJF said it’s bad enough he has to hear Page whine next week at the press conference. Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis & Kazuchika Okada blindside Page, as MJF had a giant smirk on his face. Davis laid out Page with the bounce back lariat until JetSpeed rushed out with chairs to clear the ring.

Don Callis’ music hit and he walked to the stage with Lance Archer to join Fletcher, Davis & Okada saying he has something important to say. Callis sees three champions and entitled millennial punks. Page is coming after the World Title, Knight for the International Title and Bailey with the TNT Title. Callis hates a greedy guy and couldn’t help but hear on Collision that they’d defend the Trios Title anyplace anytime. Callis said he has an announcement to make, he got it cleared with Tony Khan that JetSpeed Rodeo will put the titles on the line tonight against Davis & ProtOkada and afterwards, the Trios Titles will belong to Don Callis.

Excalibur said he got confirmation from Tony Khan that the match is actually official for the main event of the show tonight.

Match Result: Hangman Adam Page steamrolled Marty Snow

-Earlier today, Renee Paquette is with The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler, as Stokely is rolled in by FTR, as Paquette reminds them all they signed a no contact clause. Harwood said the three greatest teams in this generation is The Briscoes, FTR & The Young Bucks and talked about beating both of those teams. Nick said this time is more personal, they put their hands on their family and piledrove their brother. Revolution will be about revenge and it’s taking everything in their bodies to not kick the living sh*t out of Harwood & Wheeler, but they’ll wait until Revolution, their hometown in front of their families and leave them in a pile of piss and blood. Wheeler said they’re not mature enough to handle this professionally and got up to leave, saying The Bucks said no contact, but not Cutler, as Harwood popped him with a right hand before bailing.

Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero in an AEW Continental Title Eliminator

(Another challenger lined up by The Callis Family and another knocked down by Moxley, who continues his great run of Eliminator matches the past few months as champion. I really liked how each week this gives Takeshita a chance to get more strategy on how to defeat Moxley. It’s simple and effective and with this involving the Continental Title, it also means none of this is filled with interference, which is always a plus.)

Renee Paquette is ringside and said Don Callis said he realizes Moxley could wrestle 365 days if he could, but it’s giving his Family all the tools necessary for Konosuke Takeshita to have a game plan at Revolution. Both men exchanged take downs, as Moxley mocked the magic pose from Hechicero, who responded with a pin attempt scramble into a stalemate. Hechicero targeted the neck of Moxley, as the fans did dueling chants. Each no sold clotheslines and shoulder blocks, so Hechicero changed levels and went for ten corner punches, which Moxley stopped at nine and delivered ten of his own. Sunset flip into a cross arm-breaker by Hechicero, as Moxley rolled out, had his arm snapped on the top rope, as Hechicero flew off the top with a clothesline heading into commercial.

Back from break, Hechicero locked in a Lasso from El Paso before Moxley slipped out and managed almost a Tower of London off the ropes. Hechicero answered with a dragon screw through the ropes before stomping down on the ankle at the 10-minute call. Moxley stumbled to his feet, as Hechicero took way too long to follow-up, letting Moxley hit a superplex for the double down. Both trade sleeper attempts, but neither got the hooks sank in, so Moxley transitioned into a cross-arm breaker, until Hechicero escaped into a double leg submission. Moxley got the ropes and we got a slugfest on our hands, as Hechicero lowered the straps, daring Moxley to hit him, only it was a ruse, as he popped Moxley with a leaping kick and corner knee. Hechicero took too long again to follow-up, allowing Moxley to take his head off with a lariat. Hechicero countered a Death Rider into a flapjack before a rolling head scissors got a close near fall. Hechicero charged in the ropes, Moxley moved and Hechicero landed right on his head, leading to a Curb Stomp. Hechicero flipped Moxley off, who hit a Regal Knee and Death Rider for the win.

Moxley trash talked Don Callis to camera in the post-match, until Konosuke Takeshita came to the ring and pointed at the Revolution sign, with Moxley saying him losing the title is never going to happen.

Match Result: Jon Moxley defeated Hechicero

Brody King Calls Out Swerve Strickland

Brody King came out after commercial and took the mic calling out Swerve Strickland. King said he can be like Strickland, standing on the announce table how dangerous he is, but King knows he’s the most dangerous man in AEW and can prove that to Strickland tonight. Prince Nana walks out laughing saying he hears King loud and clear, questioning if King wants to go down this rabbit hole? King told Nana to quit talking and bring Strickland’s ass out here. Nana said ok and introduces the real most dangerous man in AEW, Swerve Strickland, who never makes his entrance, instead, blindsides King from behind with his chain. House Call connects, as Strickland wrapped the chain around King’s throat and pulls it over the top rope, mocking King by barking at him. Strickland said this is how you chain a dog up. He had to send a message to Kenny Omega and now to King. It’s one thing to claim you’re the most dangerous man in AEW, but it’s another to do it, as everyone in AEW is on notice. Strickland said he’ll see King at Revolution and reminds him he’s hung a man in LA, too. Bandido rushed out, as Strickland & Nana retreated.

-Death Riders are backstage, where Daniel Garcia asks when Don Callis is going to stop picking fights he can’t win? Wheeler Yuta lowers his hoodie showing his bald head and said losing his hair was the darkest moment on his career, but the Death Riders are the reason he’s not wallowing in his misery, they’re preparing him for war. Yuta knows the people he cares about the most has his back. Marina Shafir told Toni Storm she better make her laugh, for her sake. Jon Moxley asks if that’s the baddest dude CMLL has got? No one does it like the Death Riders, no one is willing to go as far as they are. Takeshita, at Revolution, they’re going to go as long and far as it takes, we’ll see this through, all the way to the end.

Thekla vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Title

(While I thought this started slow in terms of pace, it more than picked up down the stretch, as these two beat the hell out of each other. I think it’s a safe bet to say Thekla vs. Statlander 3 is where they’re headed.)

This is Rosa’s first singles match on Dynamite in 11 months and first time facing Thekla in a singles contest. She slapped the hell out of Thekla at the opening bell and delivered a series of chops, leaving Thekla stumbling in the ropes, going outside, where Rosa met her with two cross body blocks, one off the apron and one off the barricade. Rosa took time to pose to the crowd, allowing Thekla to fly in with a big boot off the apron and a double stomp to the back outside, controlling the action into commercial.

It was all Thekla during break, as she had Rosa trapped in a head scissors in the ropes before toying with Rosa with little slaps. This only woke Rosa up, who fired back with a thrust kick and stunner, staggering Thekla. Corner leaping lariats connect, as Rosa hit a double knees and her charging dropkick in the ropes before a Northern Lights got a near fall. Rosa went up top slowly, as Thekla met her and the two traded stiff forearms until the Spider Superplex connected. Spider pose from Thekla, who hit her Spear, but pulled Rosa up at two, opting to pour on right hands. Rosa sidestepped a Curb Stomp into another cutter before spiking Thekla with a Fire Thunder Driver for the closest near fall of the match. Thekla escaped a powerbomb, bridged to avoid a charging Rosa, who ate another Spear followed by two Curb Stomps for the win.

Skye Blue & Julia Hart came to ringside post-match and applauded Thekla until Kris Statlander started walking to the ring like Terminator until security held them both back. As this happened, Thekla delivered a third Curb Stomp to Rosa, as Statlander tossed aside security and Thekla bailed saying The Toxic Era is now.

Match Result: Thekla defeated Thunder Rosa to retain the AEW Women’s World Title

-Footage of last weeks Mile High Madness is shown and Jungle Jack Perry pinning Ricochet. Perry said soon, it’s going to be time to finish the war. Ricochet said he’s the most fighting champion in AEW, if Perry wants a war, he’s got it.

Renee Paquette welcomedTommaso Ciampa to ringside and asks what he plans to due to get back on top after losing the TNT Title? Ciampa said he took Silvy and Kyle Fletcher turned her into Pinky and gave her a makeover before hiding behind the Don Callis Family. If Ciampa has to play the game, he’ll play the game, he’ll earn his rematch. Even if that means facing Mark Briscoe again. He didn’t come to AEW for instant classics, he came to be a top guy. FTR’s music hit and out came Harwood, Wheeler & Stokely. Harwood stared down Ciampa before giving him a hug saying they’re only here to welcome an old friend to AEW. Harwood said he heard the talk of a top guy and said the way to do that, is by surrounding yourself with Top Guys. They invite Ciampa to join them and take over this company. Ciampa said he hated their guts 10 years ago and still does today, telling Stokely to be quiet down there, the grown ups are talking. Harwood said never to talk to Big Stoke that way and if you have a problem with Stoke, he has a problem with them. Ciampa said they signed a no-contact with The Bucks, but not him. Ciampa threw a right hand at Harwood, who has held back by Wheeler, but told Ciampa he’ll see him on Collision. (I’m not sure what this winds up meaning, as we’re told later on that FTR will defend the Tag Titles against The Rascalz on Collision.)

-Timeless Toni Storm demands a cameraman follow her to the doctor who is tending to Orange Cassidy. He said he & Darby Allin will fight The Dogs at Revolution, but also next week and all the weeks after that. Storm told her darling clementine that was well said and mentioned if there are War Dogs, then Death Riders aren’t far behind and if you aren’t behind then there’s no better behind to be behind than her behind. If you’re a nicotine chewing nancy that wants her lips twisted and her face fisted.

Jet Set Rodeo (Hangman Adam Page, Kevin Knight & Speedball Mike Bailey) vs. The Don Callis Family (TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, International Champion Kazuchika Okada & Mark Davis) for the AEW Trios Titles

(They just started entrances at the top of the hour and proceeded to have one hell of a party match. Once this match was announced earlier tonight, you had a feeling some shenanigans would happen and it absolutely did. Page has even more revenge coming for MJF, while the pairing of Fletcher & Bailey will lead to a rematch of their Continental Classic gem next week. I’m happy it was Davis who got the pin for his team, as he’s been crushing it lately and deserved a big win. ProtOkada/Aussie Open combo should be a fun trio to run with the titles for a while, hopefully.)

Jet Set Rodeo rushes the ring at the opening bell and the fight is on, as Don Callis joined commentary. Fletcher & Bailey are in the ring first, as Bailey sent him packing with a hurricanrana and pump kick off the apron. Bailey tried a springboard moonsault, but Davis clobbered him with a right hand, giving Fletcher a chance to pounce. Bailey was isolated until he was able to make the hot tag to Page, who was a house of fire. Davis & Okada were decked with clotheslines and a Tope outside, as Fletcher stumbled to his feet and ate a big boot. Jet Speed quickly in for a double team, until a triple dropkick with Page connected. Jet Set Rodeo deliver a trifecta of ten punches in the corner to the Callis Family, as Page hit Davis with a slingshot cross body, Bailey to Okada with a somersault plancha, but Knight was caught by Fletcher on the top and launched onto the guard rail as things go to commercial ten minutes past the top of the hour.

Back from break, Knight was able to hit a leaping clothesline on Okada for the double down, as Aussie Open wiped out Page & Bailey before a tag could be made. Wild charging boot and sliding forearm by Fletcher & Davis before Okada hit a huge dropkick for a near fall. Bailey made the save, swept the leg out of Fletcher on the apron and low bridged Davis, but Okada took him out in the process. The delay allowed Knight to hit a standing dropkick on Okada, as Knight kicked free and made the tag to Bailey, who hit a massive springboard moonsault to the floor on Fletcher. Davis ate a missile dropkick, as Fletcher tried a sneak attack, but ate a series of kicks and running Shooting Star for two. Spin kick to Davis connects, Fletcher avoided a moonsault, hit a thrust kick on Bailey, who slid out into a PK and standing moonsault double knee for two.

Okada tried a Rainmaker, but ate a wheel kick to the dome for a complete reset. Page & Davis tag in and pick up where they left off a few weeks ago, as Davis hit an enzugiri, tried his bounce back lariat, only this time was spiked with a Dead Eye, but Fletcher broke the pin. Fletcher & Bailey tried kick counters, Fletcher goes for a Lawn Dart, but Bailey countered into a Poison Rana and springboard moonsault to the floor. Page went up top for a moonsault, missed, rolled through, cracked Davis with a lariat, skinned the cat and hit another. Knight made the tag and went up top, as Page was getting ready for a Buckshot, but was pulled to the floor by MJF, who decked him with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Knight leapt off the top, but right into Okada hitting a Rainmaker, as Davis hit his spike piledriver and got the pin and the titles. The Don Callis Family celebrated with their titles to close the show.

Match Result: The Don Callis Family defeated Jet Set Rodeo to win the AEW Trios Titles when Davis pinned Knight
