AEW Dynamite ratings down slightly against NBA playoff play-in games
Wednesday's AEW Dynamite averaged 977,000 viewers on TBS, down 1.2 percent from the previous week. It's the lowest audience for the show since March 9.
Dynamite drew a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 2.6 percent from last week. The 18-49 rating is Dynamite's lowest number in the category since March 2.
Dynamite finished third on the cable charts, trailing two NBA playoff play-in tournament games on ESPN. The play-in games averaged 2.44 and 2.11 million viewers respectively and drew 0.95 and 0.80 ratings in 18-49.
In the individual ratings categories, Dynamite had a big gain in the 18-34 age group, increasing by 20.8 percent from last week's show. Most of the demos had decreases, with the largest coming with women 18-49, which dropped by 8.3 percent.
As compared to the same week in 2021, Dynamite was down 19.9 percent in overall viewers and down 15.9 percent in the 18-49 demo. This is the first week that the year-over-year numbers are comparing to when NXT was no longer head-to-head competition on Wednesdays.
