AEW files for ‘Meat Mayhem’ trademark

AEW may be reviving its plans for a special big-man match.

At Revolution earlier this year, AEW planned to have the first-ever Meat Madness match. But the match was postponed and an All-Star scramble instead took place. The postponement was because some of the wrestlers Tony Khan wanted to use in Meat Madness were not available. Khan said that, when there was enough healthy depth, he still really wanted to present Meat Madness.

AEW has now applied to trademark the term “Meat Mayhem.” The application was filed on August 8 and is listed as covering the following goods and services:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling

Starting with Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs at All Out 2023, fans have chanted “Meat!” during AEW’s big-man matches. Miro and Keith Lee were two of the wrestlers Khan wanted to have in Meat Madness when it was scheduled for Revolution. Both are still out of action.

AEW had filed a trademark for “Meat Madness” this February.
