AEW panel set for San Diego Comic-Con

AEW will have several representatives at San Diego Comic-Con this week for a panel on the future of professional wrestling and its intersection with pop culture.

The panel, named “AEW Challenge Everything: The Future of Wrestling & Culture,” is taking place this Friday night and will be hosted by Renee Paquette. Tony Khan will participate in the event and will be joined by Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, Thekla, Kyle Fletcher, Ricochet, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

SDCC is the biggest comic-con in the United States, and AEW and WWE both regularly have a presence at the event. WWE and its action figure partner Mattel will have Rey Mysterio and Danhausen among its guests at the convention this year.

AEW & Jazwares partnership likely coming to an end —

AEW’s own action figure situation is currently in flux with its partnership with Jazwares looking likely to end soon. Khan admitted in May that a change could be coming and teased that it could be a positive one for AEW and its fans. Jazwares has produced AEW’s figures since the early days of the promotion.

The AEW Comic-Con panel is taking place before the promotion heads to Canada for its Redemption pay-per-view from Montreal this Sunday (July 26).
