AEW Rampage ratings down for New Year’s Smash

Friday night’s New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Rampage averaged 470,000 viewers on TNT. That’s down 17 percent from the previous week but is still the second-highest audience toatl for the show since October 21.

In the 18-49 demo, Rampage finished 28th on the cable charts with a 0.12 rating. That’s down 33.3 percent from the previous week and is Rampage’s lowest rating in the key demo since December 9.

The cable charts were dominated by college football bowl games. The Orange Bowl, which went head-to-head with Rampage, averaged 8.6 million viewers and drew a 2.0 rating in 18-49.

Rampage’s ratings were down in every category with the exception of people over 50, which had the exact same 0.25 rating as last week. The biggest decline was with males 12-34, which were down 60 percent from last week.

As compared to the same week in 2021, which aired on New Year’s Eve, Rampage’s overall audience was actually up 3.8 percent from what was a record low at the time, but its 18-49 rating was down 36.8 percent.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for Rampage, as well as the 10-week averages in both categories. This week’s show was up 5.1 percent in overall viewers but down 7.7 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
