AEW Collision live results: Redemption go-home show
AEW Collision is the go-home show before Sunday’s Redemption pay-per-view in Montreal.
In tag team action, Maya World and Willow Nightingale will team up against AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla and TBS Champion Hikaru Shida.
The AEW World Trios Championships will be on the line as The Conglomeration team of Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong defend against ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Dalton Castle and The Outrunners.
The Young Bucks will be in tag team action against Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta.
In a qualifier for the six-way ladder match at Redemption, ROH World Television Champion Lio Rush will wrestle El Clon. In another qualifier, it will be Nick Wayne vs. AR Fox.
Tommaso Ciampa will take on Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz, while The Lethal Twist will be in action against SkyFlight.
Plus, CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone will be in action.

– It’s Saturday night, you know what that means. With Redemption just 24 hours away, it’s time for the final Collision before the big event. We got Tony Schiavone on the call with Nigel McGuiness and Paul Wight.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Zachary Wentz
Just a night before he has to deal with “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho in No-Holds Barred action, Ciampa was in action against the high-flying Zachary Wentz of the Rascalz, a week after he beat Myron Reed.
Ciampa didn’t waste time as he attacked Wentz before he could get in the ring. Ciampa got into Paul Wight’s face as he grabbed a chair. Wentz hit Ciampa with a hard kick to the face, followed by the moonsault from the apron. Once both men got into the ring, this match officially got underway. Wentz went after CIampa in the corner, as he soared with a tornillio from the middle rope. Wentz dropped Ciampa with the inverted atomic drop and got him with the leg sweep. Ciampa scurried to the ramp and got hit with the double kick from Wentz. On the top rope, Wentz took down Ciampa with a diving attack.
Wentz put Ciampa back in the ring and looked for another high-risk move, but Ciampa’s knees provided great defense against the attack. Ciampa suplexed Wentz near the corner, which sent his leg into the middle turnbuckle painfully. Ciampa choked Wentz in the corner with a discarded shirt before he continued to pound his foe with strikes. Ciampa taunted the crowd as he chopped Wentz’s chest. That was a mistake as Wentz got Ciampa with the acrobatic jumping knee. Wentz hit the deadlift German suplex on Ciampa, followed by the knee to the face in the corner and a kick to the chest. Leaping Blockbuster from the corner by Wentz, but that only got a two-count. Ciampa used the top rope to escape Wentz’s grip as he flattened him with a right cross. Ciampa swung and missed with the knee, which led to the kicks and double-stomp by Wentz. A leap from the top rope by Wentz was intercepted by a jumping knee from Ciampa. One, two….. NO!
Ciampa went for the underhook, but Wentz reversed it into a near-fall pin attempt. The kick by Ciampa led to a DDT onto the edge of the apron and connected ramp. With a stunned Wentz in a kneeling position, Ciampa cracked him with the running Psycho Knee. In the ring, Ciampa hit Wentz one more time with the Psycho Knee for the three.
After the match, Ciampa took a microphone and said that he was better than Chris Jericho. He then took a marker and drew lines on his face to resemble the Painmaker. After that, Ciampa said that The Psycho Killer was better than the Painmaker. Ciampa promised that it would be violent at Redemption tomorrow night.

This was a great opening bout. Ciampa continues to do well in the ring, even accounting for the whole Jericho feud that some might not be fond of. He and Wentz were good here.

– “Speedball” Mike Bailey talked about how he was going to do all he can in tomorrow’s six-way ladder match to earn a shot at the AEW International Championship with his friends and family in Montreal watching.
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia)
As per usual, Jon Moxley joined the commentary team for this one.
The Bucks started off hot with their double-team offense against Yuta and Garcia. On oppositei corners, Matt and Nick teed off with punches to Yuta and Garcia, but the Death Riders got the upper hand afterwards. Garcia laid it in with the punches on Nick, but he got hit with the superkicks instead. The Bucks again had the upper hand with a double team stomp as Nick slammed into Yuta on the outside with the suicide dive. The Bucks missed with the BTE Trigger as things broke down right away. Matt caught Yuta and Garcia in a double Northern Lights Suplex. Matt punched away at Garcia, but Yuta caught him as he was running across the ropes. This was our cue to head to a break.
Back to our match as Garcia and Yuta had Matt cornered, as they hit a unique double-team stretch/German suplex combo for the near-fall. Matt fought out of his predicament with a DDT, which allowed him to get the hot tag to Nick. Two for the price of one on the crossbody by Nick, followed by the noggin-knocker on Yuta and Garcia. Nick looked like he was holdingh his on with the double stomp on Garcia, then the rolling backstabber to Yuta. Both Bucks were on the top rope and on opposite corners and hit stereo dives on their foes, but that wasn’t enough for the win. The Bucks called for the superkick part as the feet were flying. A very unique rolling German Suplex and Powerbomb combo was hit by the Bucks, who then got Garcia with the BTE Trigger. Yuta broke up the count in the nick of time.
PAC and Claudio Castagnoli interfered, whifch led to the sneaky attack, but Matt kicked out at two. Chaos broke down as Christian Cage ran in to attack Castagnoli. Meanwhile, on the ramp, Adam Copeland speared PAC as the numbers dwindled. Back in the ring, Nick connected with the X-Factor, followed by the Meltzer Driver on Garcia for the pin and win.
After the match, the Bucks confronted Jon Moxley on the commentary table as Will Ospreay struck with a hit and run Hidden Blade. Moxley added a Death Rider DDT for good measure.

It’s rare to come away from a Young Bucks match and be left disappointed, and this bout was no exception. Outstanding, breathless action, and the Bukcs vs. Ospreay/Moxley tomorrow night in Montreal should be even better than this fantastic match.

– We got footage of Brodido fighting Kyle Fletcher during an AEW panel at SDCC yesterday, ahead of Bandido’s AEW International Title match against reigning champion Fletcher tomorrow.
Persephone vs. Angelica Risk
Persephone slapped Risk in the face twice before she slammed her down with an arm takedown. Persephone aggressively pummeled Risk as she got in referee Aubrey Edwards’ face. Persephone remained belligerent as ever as she choked away at Risk in the corner. Risk kicked at Persephone, but that did her little good, as she got planted with a modified crucifix bomb for the win.

Pretty quick bout, but it did its job in establishing this more aggressive character for Persephgone post-misting.
