AEW Dynamite and Collision Holiday Bash live results: $1 million trios match

$1 million is at stake in a six-man tag on tonight’s three-hour AEW Dynamite and Collision Holiday Bash special.

The Elite reunite for a trios battle with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks facing Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, and Hechicero in the $1 million six-man bout.

The first steps in crowning the winner of the Dynamite Diamond Ring will also occur tonight with the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. The final two competitors will meet in a singles match next week to determine who will hold the ring for the next year.

The AEW Tag Team Championship is at stake on the show as Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR defend their gold against Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn of The Bang Bang Gang.

Mercedes Mone teams with Athena, Marina Shafir, and Megan Bayne against Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, Toni Storm, and Mina Shirakawa in an eight-woman tag.

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Adam Page will have a contract signing for their World title bout set for Worlds End.

The Continental Classic also continues tonight with three tournament bouts.

In the Blue League, Jon Moxley faces Roderick Strong, plus Orange Cassidy takes on Mascara Dorada. In the Gold League, Kyle Fletcher faces PAC.

AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash comes on the air wasting no time, as the bell sounds with Jon Moxley & Roderick Strong already in the ring, as Excalibur welcomes us alongside Nigel McGuinness & Tony Schiavone.

Jon Moxley (3) vs. Roderick Strong (0) in a Continental Classic Blue League Match

(These two have had three singles matches in AEW and I’d say this was their strongest. I really liked how they made sure the importance of this win for both as it makes every win going forward that much more significant. Strong put up a great effort, but a must-win Moxley is a scary Moxley and wasn’t going to be denied. It’ll be interesting to see who comes out of Blue League and make the semis.)

Must win match for both men, as we get backstage audio from Renee Paquette who says neither man is sitting pretty in the C2, as it’s a desperate situation for both. This is a far stretch from Moxley cruising to the previous C2 Finals a few years ago. Strong & Moxley are 2-2 in their careers dating back to 2008 and she asks who will be a clutch player in a crucial situation. I really liked this Paquette commentary, as Strong fired off corner strikes and Dragon Screw to follow. Both men start ramping up a slugfest until Moxley was sent over the top to the outside, clutching his leg. Strong quickly out in pursuit over the barricade and into the crowd with chops galore. Moxley was sent back into the ring, but Strong took too long to follow-up, giving Moxley a chance to hit a Tope, leaving both down heading to break.

We return with Moxley delivering kitchen sink knees, trying a Gotch Style Piledriver, which Strong backdropped out of, as Moxley landed hard outside. Arkady Aura gave us a 10-minute call, as Strong connected on a baseball slide and dive off the apron. Strong continues pouring on the offense back inside with an Angle Slam and running strikes into a big slam for two. Moxley rolls out of Strong Hold to the floor, but Strong again was out after, setting up the steps and dropping Moxley down back first. Seemed like Moxley’s left elbow got the worst of that, as both men went back inside, where Moxley got a boot up, but was cut-off in the corner. Strong got a back rake of his own before hitting a superplex for the close near fall.

After another slugfest, Strong spun out of a Death Rider into a Tiger Driver before looking for Strong Hold. Moxley escaped, both men up, where Strong tried to throw a knee, but Moxley hit a perfect leaping Cutter for two. Moxley quickly planted Strong with a piledriver, but again, only netted two. Moxley scrambled for a Rear Naked Choke, as Moxley locked the left arm, forcing Strong to roll to the ropes. Strong threw a desperation pump knee for a near fall that had the crowd biting until sinking in Strong Hold and the fans are on their feet yelling for Moxley to tap. Moxley spun out, kicked free, sending Strong outside. Strong quickly returned to the ring, only to be spiked with a Paradigm Shift. The delay in cover allowed Strong to kick-out, as Moxley delivered a Death Rider flush to win the match and mathematically eliminate Strong from the C2.

Match Result: Jon Moxley (6) defeated Roderick Strong (0) to earn 3 Points in the Continental Classic Blue League

-Eddie Kingston is backstage saying you either win or you learn, you never lose, as last week, he learned from his match with Samoa Joe. Everyone else he faces going forward, they’ll see what he learned, as pro wrestling is his everything. One loss won’t bother him, as he’ll move forward, maybe, at Collision?

-Ahead of the upcoming match, Don Callis came out to give his over the top introduction for Konosuke Takeshita & Hechicero before Kazuchika Okada got his big solo entrance. The Young Bucks came out to their Superkick Party theme, while Kenny Omega was out to Battle Cry, as The Elite got a whole bunch of pyro.

Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita & Hechicero w/Don Callis) for $1,000,000

(I’d call this a PPV caliber party match, as they continued the story of Takeshita & Okada hating each other, while having them on the same page just enough. Hopefully this ends the whole bag of money aspect of this story, as I think we’re good on million dollar matches for a while. I’m not sure where The Elite go from here, as I’d love for them to go for the Trios Titles once again, while Takeshita & Okada certainly have to have their long awaited face-off sooner than later.)

Takeshita & Omega have a face-off to kick things off with the crowd loudly singing for Omega before switching to F Don Callis. Omega got the upper-hand before The Bucks make quick tags in and out. Takeshita sent both Bucks over the top to the apron, but he was met with a triple team enzugiri corner charge. Springboard double stomp by Nick & Omega put The Elite in control heading to commercial.

We return to Omega in control of Hechicero, slamming him down with a face-palm slam, until Hechicero went to the eyes. Okada tagged in and tried to silence the crowd, calling for Hechicero to help double team, Takeshita opted to do it, which displeased Okada. Takeshita shoved Okada out of the way, so he & Hechicero hit a double suplex on Omega as Okada looked on annoyed. This delay allowed Omega to hit a suplex on Okada, who sold it like death, but got an eye poke, as Hechicero tagged back in and kept Omega isolated. Callis said if he had Diverticulitis, he’d have kicked out of it in one week. Omega battled back, trapped Hechicero in the corner, while delivering You Can’t Escape before Nick flew in with a Senton, rolled into a backstabber on Hechicero, while Matt connected on an elbow off the top on Takeshita with The Elite standing tall. Okada halted the momentum initially, but took a hurricanrana to the outside by Nick. The Elite signaled for a triple Terminator Dive and connected with a trifecta of Topes.

Back from break, Okada kept Matt isolated, until he hit a flipping Stunner off the apron on Takeshita. Matt scrambled for a tag, but Okada cut him off, only to eat a cazadora bulldog for the double down. Hot tag to Nick, as Takeshita was in as well, as he & Okada tried a double team, but Nick did his Lucha Libre takedown. PK to Okada on the apron, hurricanrana on the floor to Hechicero, quickly back in for a cazadora Cutter on Takeshita before delivering Risky Business with Matt on Takeshita for two. Takeshita caught a boot and threw a wild rolling elbow, tagging Hechicero, who hit the running knee in the corner. Mad Scientist Bomb was spun out of, giving Nick a chance to spike him with a wildly impressive Destroyer counter. Omega & Okada tag in, as the crowd are on their feet for this showdown. Yay/Boo forearms are traded, until Omega avoided a corner dropkick, wanted One Winged Angel, Okada escaped, tried a Rainmaker, but Omega ducked and Okada took a Superkick. Guillotine Legdrop by Hechicero, Matt in with a DDT, Takeshita a Blue Thunder Bomb, but Omega flew in with a knee strike into a reset.

Takeshita avoided a superkick by Nick, who countered into a face-buster. Blind tag by Matt, as Takeshita waffled Nick with a forearm. Sunset flip over both Nick & Takeshita sent Takeshita flying with a release German from Matt. The Bucks have a Superkick Party before Trying a TK Driver, but Okada dropkicked Nick in mid-air giving Takeshita a chance to hit a Bastard Driver into a release German and Power Drive Knee for two, Omega saved. Hechicero tagged in, as Takeshita signaled for another Power Drive Knee, but Okada stole it, trying for a Rainmaker. Takeshita & Okada argued, Hechicero tried playing peacemaker, but Takeshita sent Okada to the outside. Omega dished out Snap Dragons to everyone until The Bucks joined for a Triple Superkick. V-Trigger from Omega, as a One Winged Angel/Indy Taker combo connected for the victory.

Post-match, Callis held on to the bag of money, while Takeshita & Okada attacked The Bucks & Omega. Raging Fire & Rainmaker connected on The Bucks, as they traded places hitting the other Buck with their finishers. Okada then shoved Takeshita, who returned the shove, with Callis scrambling for them to stop, as both quickly bailed with Omega returning with a broom. The Cleaner cleaned the ring, as referee Rick Knox got the bag of money and instead of running for his life with it, handed it to Omega. The Elite stood tall with the money.

Match Result: The Elite defeated The Don Callis Family to win $1,000,000 when Omega pinned Hechicero

Contract Signing AEW Men’s World Title Contract Signing for Worlds End

Tony Schiavone introduced Hangman Adam Page, Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) finally AEW Men’s World Champion Samoa Joe (with HOOK & Powerhouse Hobbs) to the ring. Schiavone put over all three, which Joe was having none of, as he told him to shut his big yapper. Joe apologized for bringing his colleagues, but due to the volatility of both Page & Strickland, he wants to make sure everyone is safe and nobody does anything stupid. Joe said he won’t waste anymore of his time and signed the contract.

Strickland said he came back to be AEW Champion and if it wasn’t for HOOK, he’d be coming after Page right now, even though there’s weird mutual respect between them. There’s also mutual hatred between them for Joe and brought up signing his last contract against Joe in his own blood, resulting in him taking the AEW Title from Joe, which he’ll do once again. On top of that, he’ll Swerve Stomp the hell out of Joe, leaving a boot print on his face, making Joe’s face uglier than when he had a tattoo on his years ago (in TNA). Strickland told both to bring all their big guns to World End, as you can’t kill a God with bullets before signing the contract as well.

Page took the mic and reminded everyone where they were back in July, fighting together to free the AEW Title from a briefcase and the tyranny of Jon Moxley’s bullsh*t. Page said it could’ve easily been Joe instead of Moxley they were trying to fight. If Page & Strickland figured their stuff out before he fought Moxley, this could’ve been Strickland as Champion right now, but it was left to Page to get the job done, which he did and became the AEW World Champion. Page knew as World Champion, one by one, each of them would find their way across from him. He gave Joe an opportunity at WrestleDream and he failed, so he turned to Hobbs, Shibata & HOOK, turning into what he fought against, worse than Death Riders on their worst day. Joe might be Champion, but it’s all he has, as he’s out of self-respect and dignity. In the twilight of his career, he’d hate for Joe to be remembered as the piece of sh*t he is today.

Joe said if anyone would know about that, it’s this God forsaken town. Page said as World Champion, he planned on defending against everyone who helped him. Darby Allin, Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland, who said he’d expect nothing else from Strickland than to step-up to him and he would’ve accepted to defeat had Page lost to him. That’s not the world we live in, at World’s End, he can’t guarantee Joe who walks away Champion, he just knows it won’t be Joe, who messed up worse than he knows, making an enemy out of Strickland & himself. Page signed the contract and the Main Event for World’s End is…

The lights go out and MJF’s music comes on, with pyro raining down as he walks to the ring with the crowd singing his theme. Mark Sterling hands the contract to MJF, who signs his guarantee World Title shot and it’s now a 4-Way at World’s End. MJF tells Schiavone to bounce, as he knows people must be wondering why he’s cashing in for a 4-Way and says hi to Seabiscuit. MJF said unlike Page, he’s been gone filming a movie and actually is a star. Maybe Page was right, MJF might’ve taken every shortcut possible, but he needs to hurt and cut Page deep as possible, beating Page and his biggest rivals in one swoop, leaving Page and his fan with zero excuses.

Joe tried to talk, but MJF screamed to shut his mouth and asked if Joe is going to quote him a superhero soliloquy? When Joe took the title from MJF, the fans turned on him, which MJF painfully admits they are the ones who dictates who become an all-time great, which MJF needs. Sloppy Joe’s luck has run out and will fall back like his hairline. The same place Joe ended MJF’s title reign, he’s going to end his. Strickland said if there’s anyone MJF should be afraid of, it should be him. MJF said Strickland reminds him a lot of a famous musician who calls himself a mogul, rocks chains, baby oil and dog-sh*t rappers, P Diddy. Strickland smirked at this, as MJF mocked Whose House? MJF talked about both being 18 years old grinding on the indies, until MJF became the biggest home-grown star in AEW (looking at Page) while Strickland went to WWE. The crowd booed, as MJF said it’s a perfectly good company, but Strickland’s run wasn’t great, though he enjoyed watching Strickland twerk for Top Dolla.

Then Strickland came across the street and became a star, beating Sloppy Joe for the World Title, holding it for 126 Days. MJF’s reign was 406, but who’s counting. Now, Strickland is biting the hand that feeds him (MJF mocked the Gritty) and said this is MJF’s House, rent is due and the Devil’s come to collect. You can call MJF Michael Corleone, as he’s about to handle all his family business, World’s End, he gets back what’s rightfully his, the Triple B, AEW World Championship. MJF hit his go-home line and left the crowd to finish it.

This was a very long segment, but it certainly interjected MJF (who cut a hell of a promo) firmly into the World Title picture and the fans loved seeing his return tonight.

-JetSpeed are backstage and said it’s time to lock in on their way to the Finals. We could barely hear this promo, but we find out Kevin Knight is facing Okada, while Speedball Bailey faces Jack Perry on Collision in Continental Classic matches.

AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) & Timeless Love Bombs (Timeless Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa) vs. TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, ROH Women’s Champion Athena & The MegaProblems (Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir)

(Just a sheer chaotic party match that saw presumably the Babes of Wrath’s first challengers for their titles emerge, at least it should. This really felt like a match to just establish Mone & Athena to try and get their win back from being eliminated in the tag tournament in the first round. I would bet this happens at Worlds End, but that’s not official, yet.)

Babes of Wrath made quick tags early double teaming Mone with an assisted cazadora splash, leaving Mone scrambling to tag Athena. Cameron had her head taken off with a wild forearm, told Mone it’s how you do it, only to eat Sole Food for her troubles. Shafir tagged in, Cameron tried a cazadora, but both women fell to the mat awkwardly. They adjusted, Shirakawa made a blind tag and hit a slingshot Tornillo, until Bayne came in and was planted with a DDT while Shafir was trapped in a leg-lock. Storm tagged in and used Shirakawa for an assisted splash, as the babyfaces stood tall with Storm dancing in the ring. We go to commercial with everyone brawling and neither had the upper hand.

We return with Cameron hitting a spinning DDT, spiking Bayne, making the hot tag to Storm, who ran wild with hairmares on Shafir before planting her with a DDT as well. Storm connected on Sweet Cheek Music flush, tried Storm Zero, but was cut-off by Athena. Shirakawa flew in for an attack, Mone followed, but fell to a double clothesline with Cameron. Storm delivered a headbutt to Shafir and sort of fell back into a tag to Nightingale, who slugged it out with Bayne. Big time Spinebuster got a near fall, as Nightingale wanted a Doctor Bomb, but Bayne escaped in the corner. Shafir made a bling tag, while Bayne hit a corner hurricanrana. Cameron sent Bayne outside, but Shafir came in with a Tiger Feint head scissors in the ropes. Storm flew in with a hip attack, before Shirakawa hit an assisted dive from the top to the outside. Athena tagged Mone before wiping out a pile with a dive of her own. Mone wanted a dive, but ran right into a Pounce by Nightingale, who followed-up with a Cannonball off the apron onto everyone. Back inside, Nightingale rolled right into an O-Face by Athena, as Mone scrambled and got the pin. Mone & Athena celebrated with their titles, as Babes of Wrath looked stunned as they quickly went to break.

Match Result: Mercedes Mone, Athena & The MegaProblems defeated Babes of Wrath & Timeless Love Bombs when Mone pinned Nightingale

Kyle Fletcher (6) vs. PAC (3) in a Continental Classic Gold League Match

(I feel like this is going to be a forgotten gem in this C2, as we’ve had so many crazy great matches that this will fall under the radar in my opinion. These two had one hell of a sprint to the finish and had one of my favorite finishes in this tournament. It only helped that PAC was a hometown favorite, as they went wild for that ending. PAC is right back into things in Gold League, while Fletcher has now taken back to back losses.)

Renee Paquette once again provided audio analysis before the start of the match as we’re told PAC has defeated Fletcher in their only singles meeting outside of AEW. Series of reversals to start, as PAC tried to keep Fletcher grounded in the early going. Fletcher escaped, PAC floated over into a snap hurricanrana, sending Fletcher outside to regroup. PAC quickly out after, only to be turned inside out with a lariat. PAC recovered, sent Fletcher out on the opposite side and hit another hurricanrana off the apron. Quickly back inside, Fletcher rolled away to escape a PAC dropkick and starched him with a thrust kick. Taking too long up top, PAC leapt up with him and delivered an avalanche release belly to belly into commercial.

During break, both men turned one another inside out with a double clothesline on the floor, as we returned with PAC trying his home run lariat, only to run into a Michinoku Driver for two. During picture-in-picture, Fletcher charged and was launched with an overhead belly-to-belly into the corner for a double down. PAC teased Black Arrow, but Fletcher rolled outside, only PAC readjusted and hit a massive Moonsault to the floor. Back inside, Tiger Suplex landed, but Fletcher kicked out as Arkady Aura gave us the 10-minute call. PAC again went up for a Black Arrow, but Fletcher rolled to the other side of the ring. PAC avoided a second Michinoku Driver and spiked Fletcher with a Poison Rana. PAC again tried his home run lariat, but ran into a leg lariat and Liger Bomb for two.

PAC avoided the Brainbuster, guillotined Fletcher on the top before trying a cross body, only to get caught. PAC floated over and applied a Brutalizer Crossface, rolled through, flattened Fletcher out into a Brutalizer proper. Fletcher faded, but his foot landed on the ropes. Third time was a charm for a frustrated PAC, who hit his home run lariat for a close two. PAC quickly went up top for Black Arrow, but Fletcher exploded up, crotching PAC and hitting a Helluva Kick. Fletcher spiked PAC with the Brainbuster, but PAC kicked out and the crowd exploded. Fletcher wanted his Buckle Brainbuster, but PAC fought out into a crazy Avalanche Poison Rana and followed with Black Arrow for the win in a hell of a finish.

Match Result: PAC (6) defeated Kyle Fletcher (6) to earn 3 Points in the Continental Classic Gold League

Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale

(I’m such a fan of the Casino Gauntlets, that Battle Royales like this over the past few years have been rather underwhelming. Lots of guys waiting outside, which shouldn’t happen in a battle royal if it were me. I did, however, like the finish with Brodido & The Demand and think the Diamond Ring match next week will be excellent. The fans seemed to be confused and didn’t realize the final two would lead to a match on Christmas Eve. It’s interesting that this will be the first Dynamite Diamond Ring match to not involve MJF, who has won it literally every year since its inception.)

Participants included Shelton Benjamin, Ricochet, Josh Alexander, Mark Davis, Luchasaurus, Anthony Bowens, Bandido, Ace Austin, Brody King, Max Caster, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona

Wrestlers were already surrounding ringside and made their entrance, as The Demand attacked Brodido on the aisle during their entrance. Austin took out The Demand with a dive, while Davis & Alexander attacked Caster & Bowens. The bell officially sounded (with only 6 guys in the ring at the time), as Benjamin & Luchasaurus slugged it out. Alexander was Mollywopped by Bowens and immediately started bickering with Caster, who got the crowd to do his elaborate chant continuing the storyline that will never end. The former Acclaimed reluctantly hit Scissor Me Timbers and teased Scissoring, but Ricochet eliminated Caster. Ricochet scurried away from Benjamin, leaving Austin to fight off the Callis Family members before being launched over the top by Davis. Unique neckbreaker by Bowens on Ricochet, who held on desperately, so Davis eliminated Bowens as things went to commercial.

We return with all the hosses in the match throwing each other all over the ring, until Ricochet springboarded into the clutches of Benjamin, who literally launched him into the grips of a Luchasaurus choke slam. Benjamin was tossed by Alexander, Davis dumped by Luchasaurus, who was then eliminated by Alexander. King fought off all of The Demand, giving Ricochet a running Death Valley Driver in the corner onto Liona. Alexander picked King’s leg with an Ankle Lock, as King rolled through into a Bandido monkey flip, eliminating Alexander. King stalked Ricochet ringside and squished him with a cross body into the barricade, while Liona launched King into the front row. Bandido escaped a fireman’s carry by Kaun, didn’t see Liona show up from behind, was about to eliminate him, when King returned and took the bullet for his partner, eliminating himself & Liona. Bandido frantically battled with Kaun and hit a hurricanrana sending Kaun over the top to the outside. Bandido & Ricochet were the final two and will meet next week for the Dynamite Diamond Ring. The crowd were silent for the finish, as I don’t think they knew this was coming down to the final two.

Match Result: Ricochet & Bandido won the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, advancing to next week’s Dynamite Diamond Ring Match

-Jon Moxley is backstage and said he likes the Continental Classic, it’s simple, step in the ring, bring whatever you have and everything is laid bare, nowhere to hide. The deeper the tournament gets; the more is revealed. Moxley pushes people’s buttons, antagonizes them, which changes people, as some react differently than others. Some become monsters like Kyle O’Reilly, while Roderick Strong is better than he’s ever been, leaving Moxley 30 second away from being S.O.L. in this tournament. Whatever happens, Moxley wants to know he didn’t leave any bullets in the chamber and left it all out there. This was a great babyface promo from the currently heel Moxley.

Orange Cassidy (3) vs. Mascara Dorada (3) in a Continental Classic Blue League Match

(While Cassidy was frustrated on how to handle Dorada’s offense early, we were reminded that Cassidy can wrestle any style and resulted in having a nice back and forth battle. The crowd were behind both and were genuinely surprised by the flash finish. I hope Dorada continues to be a regular on AEW programming after this C2 is wrapped, he’s been doing great in this tournament so far.)

While these two teamed last night on AEW Dark, this was much more mat based action than you’d expect to start, as Cassidy was left scrambling out of early pinning predicaments, almost looking frustrated. A quick series of takedowns from Cassidy left him standing tall, as a stalemate led to commercial.

Back from break, Cassidy avoided a flipping Dorada, still seemed frustrated with how to go about Dorada’s offense. Dorada got an Escalera arm drag, as Cassidy lightly tapped the chest before delivering Sole Food and some ginger rope walking before trying an arm drag with a hand in the pocket. With the hands in the pockets, Cassidy fired off his signature head scissors, dropkick, kip up and Tope, which Dorada avoided into a boot and Tope of his own followed by a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Dorada hit a running Shooting Star Press off the apron as the fans sang his name.

Back inside, Dorada hit a massive springboard cross body for a near fall, wanted a powerbomb, which Cassidy escaped, tried Beach Break, but his back gave out. Powerslam connects for Dorada, but Cassidy attempted his spinning DDT, which Dorada posted out of initially, but not the second attempt, as Cassidy spiked him. 10-minute call, as Dorada avoided Orange Punch into an enzugiri followed by a wild back breaker. Quickly up top, Dorada rolled through a missed Shooting Star Press, as both trade rolling pin attempts for close near falls. Cassidy again missed Orange Punch, floated over in the corner, rolled back inside, but had his arm hung up on the top. Dorada leapt up top for a Tornillo arm drag, but Cassidy held onto the arm and hooked a crucifix for the flash pin.

Post-match, Cassidy threw his sunglasses into Dorada, who put them on.

Match Result: Orange Cassidy (6) defeated Mascara Dorada (3) to earn 3 Points in the Continental Classic Blue League

-Lexy Nair is backstage with Mercedes Mone & Athena, who were insulted at asking if their win tonight felt like avenging their loss in the Tag Title Tournament. Mone talked about having Willow Nightingale’s number, while Athena brought up both of them challenging the Hussies of Wrath for the Tag Titles at Worlds End. Mone told TK he better make that happen, while she said she’ll defend her RevPro British Women’s Title on Collision, as Athena said she doesn’t care what she does, as long as Mone is locked in at Worlds End.

Jamie Hayter vs. Isla Dawn

(A lot happened during commercial, as Dawn (who looked good) took a ton of this, which I don’t know is the best since she’s not the one getting a Women’s Title match at the PPV. The post-match miscommunication between Champion and Challenger is to be expected heading to the PPV. I still question why Thekla isn’t involved in the Women’s Title picture right now. Perhaps after Worlds End.)

Dawn got an entrance and is coming off a loss to Marina Shafir on Dark last night. Dueling chants from the crowd, as Dawn got an early takedown, but Hayter answered with big boots of her own. Dawn low bridged Hayter to the outside and followed with a baseball slide and PK on the apron to control things into break.

Slugfest as things returned, we’re told Dawn has been dominating the commercial, as a double cross-body led to a reset. Hayter connects on a missile dropkick and backdrop driver, but Dawn answer with one of her own for a near fall. Hayter swung for the fences on a lariat, but awkwardly hit I think a Hayt-Breaker followed by Hayter-ade for the win.

Post-match, Skye Blue & Julia Hart attacked both ladies who were shaking hands, as Thekla appeared and the Triangle of Madness put a whipping on Hayter, literally, as Thekla whipped her with her belt. Kris Statlander sprinted to the ring and took out Hart & Blue with a double suplex, Thekla with a back suplex and Blue a Tombstone. A weirdly timed missed Hayter-ade clobbered Statlander and not Thekla, who shoved Hart out of the way. Hayter shrugged her shoulders standing over Statlander, placing the Women’s Title on the champ before walking off.

Match Result: Jamie Hayter defeated Isla Dawn

FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler w/Stokely) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & Austin Gunn) for the AEW Tag Team Titles

(An action-packed main event, with the challengers coming incredibly close of defeating FTR one more time. The finish really annoyed the fans, who were loudly behind Gunn & Robinson, but I genuinely loved the visual we got as an end result. I ‘m not sure who is next in line for FTR, especially with Worlds End being less than two weeks away. I wouldn’t be opposed to a rematch if it’s in the cards, as you could play off both teams having a win against each other over the last few months.)

A fan held up a sign that said Big Stoke: Professional Hoe-Scarer, which he was obviously displeased by. Gunn & Wheeler kicked things off with a fast start, as Gunn mowed him down with a shoulder tackle before Robinson tagged in and targets the left arm. McGuinness points out if a tag was made right now, it wouldn’t be allowed, as Harwood wasn’t holding the tag rope. The distraction from Harwood allowed a cheap shot by Wheeler and official tag, as Robinson fought him off in the ropes, flipped out into a cross body for two. Wheeler was sent outside, as Stokely took the ref to give Wheeler a chance to trip Robinson up. Gunn saved his partner from a double suplex, as Robinson flew off the top for a huge double cross body before slingshotting Wheeler over the top, splatting outside, as FTR are left to regroup heading to commercial.

Back from break, Gunn nearly got a small package on Harwood, but Wheeler distracted the ref before a count could be made. Gunn continued to be isolated until he reversed a Sleeper. Wheeler made a blind tag, sunset flip, Harwood decked him with a lariat for a near fall, as a frustrated Robinson was left cheering his partner on. Wheeler tried a Vader Bomb in the corner, but Gunn got the boots up and dove for the Robinson hot tag. House of Fire was Robinson, who fired off jabs aplenty into a double clothesline. Spinebuster to both, as a high stack on Harwood got a near fall. Robinson called for the finish, but Wheeler cut off Juice is Loose, FTR tried an assisted suplex, only Gunn tackled Wheeler and Robinson got an inside cradle for two. Stokely jumped on the apron with powder in his hand, but Robinson blocked it and sent him colliding into Wheeler. Harwood missed a cheap shot and Robinson got another near fall. Both fought up in the corner, where Harwood bit his way free, only to be decked by a Gunn right hand. Gunn & Robinson delivered the Power-Plex, but Wheeler flew off to break the cover, only hit his partner instead. Gunn flew in with a Fame-Asser to take out Wheeler, as Robinson covered Harwood for two.

Crowd loudly behind the Bang Bang Gang, as Gunn sprinted at Wheeler on the floor, who ducked and Gunn violently crashed over the time keepers table. Robinson missed a charge and posted his shoulder, as FTR wanted Shatter Machine, but Gunn pulled Wheeler’s legs out and crotched him on the post. Left Hand of God into the Fame Asser, as Robinson pinned Harwood for three, but Robinson didn’t see Harwood’s foot on the ropes and referee Paul Turner call off the count. Gunn & Robinson celebrated with the belts, as the crowd chanted Bullsh*t. Gunn was sent outside, as Wheeler chop blocked Robinson and they snapped down his leg. Inverted Figure Four from Harwood, as Wheeler taunted him with the Tag Title belt. Gunn was held off by Wheeler, as Robinson tried to grab at the title belt, but tapped out.

Match Result: FTR defeated Bang Bang Gang to retain the AEW Tag Team Titles when Harwood submitted Robinson
