AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Excalibur welcoming us alongside Tony Schiavone as they throw it to pre-recorded comments from competitors in action tonight.

MJF reminds Brody King that he sees men like him in the streets of New York all the time, they’re called homeless. After tonight, King won’t have a pot to piss in. King told MJF tonight in the main event, he’s going to hurt him, bad and he’s going to earn an AEW World Title shot.

Kenny Omega said one more week and one more win we can get a little closer to reclaiming AEW gold. He hasn’t forgotten what Andrade did to him months ago and knows Don Callis was behind it. Don Callis said his Family presents AEW Dynamite, as tonight, Takeshita takes his next step to becoming the next Continental Champion, Mark Davis will dismantle Hangman Page, while Kenny Omega steps in with a real man tonight and he’ll stomp a hole in Omega, leaving Callis so happy.

Babes of Wrath said MegaBad aren’t ready to feel the wrath, as they’re living their dreams, tonight in Las Vegas, let’s fight. MegaBad said tonight, the Babes of Wrath are looking at the end.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC & Daniel Garcia w/Marina Shafir) vs. Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, El Clon & Josh Alexander)

(I suppose the positive thing about there being so many talented members of the Callis Family is that the Death Riders can fight a different combo every week and we’d get entertaining party matches like this. While it’s clear Takeshita is the next challenger for Moxley, I really hope we see a PAC vs. Clon singles at some point, it felt like they were just scratching the surface. Alexander & Garcia would be excellent as well. Death Riders continue to be in a weird spot, as they’re cheered in most cases now, but are clearly heels in other feuds.)

Garcia & Alexander scrap early, trading takedowns, chops and shoulder tackles. Clon & PAC tag in, exchanging arm bars until both flipped out into multiple standing switches. Clon stumbled out of a hurricanrana, tried a head scissors of his own, but PAC flipped to his feet. Clon responded with a jump kick, kipped up and stared PAC down. Moxley & Takeshita tag in to a big reaction and start throwing bombs, neither giving ground, until Alexander & Clon attack from behind, leading to PAC & Garcia making the save and gaining the upper hand, isolating Takeshita with fast tags. PAC was sent flying over the top to the outside, as Takeshita launched Garcia with an overhead belly to belly onto a down Moxley in the corner. Clon made the tag and lit up PAC with a fast kick combo, floated over in the corner into a Pele Kick, only to run into a bounce back German from PAC, who wanted a head of steam lariat, but was tripped up by Alexander. Clon hit his one leg springboard moonsault, as PAC was pulled outside and beat down with things going to commercial.

PAC was worked over the entire break, as Alexander kept PAC grounded with a Northern Lights for two. PAC started swinging at everything that moved, but walked into a flipping fireman’s carry, only to miss the guillotine knee out of the corner for the reset. Moxley & Takeshita tag back in and keep up the forearms until each trade Exploders with Moxley standing tall, sending Alexander outside and catching a diving Clon with a mid-air Cutter. Garcia made a blind tag, as Moxley leveled Takeshita with a King Kong Lariat, as Garcia sank in the Dragon Tamer while Moxley hit a Curb Stomp. For some reason, Garcia let go of the submission and tried for a cover for two, as Alexander made the save.

The match kept breaking down, as Clon took out PAC with a one-legged Asai Moonsault, but was met with a Moxley Tope Suicida. Garcia went back to the Dragon Tamer, but was rolled up for two. Garcia regrouped, charged, running right into a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Takeshita went for a Power Driver Knee, was caught with a forearm, but Takeshita blocked a Garcia cazadora into a Bastard Driver and release German. Clon & Alexander joined with a locomotion corner combo until Takeshita hit the Power Drive Knee, but Garcia kicked out. Takeshita wouldn’t be denied, as he flattened Garcia with Raging Fire for the win. Post-match, Takeshita stared down Moxley, who was tending to Garcia outside.

Match Result: The Don Callis Family defeated Death Riders when Takeshita pinned Garcia

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana asking where his focus shifts now that he’s out of the World Title picture? Nana said their focus is right where it’s always been. Just because they lost one match, doesn’t mean they’re going anywhere. Strickland didn’t say a word during this and walked off.

-Video package on Will Ospreay is shown, featuring highlights in AEW and also awaiting neck surgery and X-rays of the screws in the neck. Excalibur said the surgery was a success, but we don’t know when Ospreay can return to action. This was a very good update for Ospreay.

Orange Cassidy & Timeless Toni Storm vs. Jordan Oasis & Brittnie Brooks

Earlier today, Cassidy & Storm asked Tony Khan to be a standby match and he said if there’s time, they’d get it. Apparently, time opened up 30 minutes into the show, as Storm is rocking a denim ensemble tonight. Oasis offered a free shot to Cassidy to start the match, as Cassidy threw the tamest of chops, until offering Oasis one of his own. Oasis watched too much Power Slap, as he wound up, but Cassidy missed and got a takedown. After looking at his reflection in Oasis’ bald head, Storm tagged in and fired off Mongolian Chops on Brooks before hitting a series of hairmares and release German that planted Brooks on her neck. Do-si-do by Storm & Cassidy, who did a little Tango before Storm spiked Brooks with a brutal Tornado DDT. Oasis took one of his own from Cassidy until Storm hit the Sweet Cheek Music. Cassidy popped Oasis with an Orange Punch and won it for his team.

Post-match, Luther scurried to the ring as Cassidy took the mic, saying he doesn’t know if the Hair vs. Hair Mixed Tag is a good idea, he likes his hair. Storm said her hair is her livelihood and will look like a boiled egg or angry penis. Storm looked at Luther and crumbled to her knees, as Luther placed her robe over her, as she rose and reminded her & Cassidy who the hell they are. Two things in Australia will happen, either Cassidy gives Wheeler Yuta a combover or Storm will make Marina look like Mox.

Match Result: Orange Cassidy & Timeless Toni Storm defeated Jordan Oasis & Brittnie Brooks

-Earlier today, Darby Allin was skating to the arena when a car pulled up and the War Dogs, Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors, attacked him by the production truck. Connors cracked Allin with a tire before they threw him into the trunk of his car. They pealed out and that was the end of the segment.

AEW Trios Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Mark Davis

(Hell of a hard-hitting match this was, as I’m hopeful with Jake Doyle out of action for the foreseeable future that Davis stays showcased and doesn’t fall into the background. This was a strong obstacle for Page, who was absolutely stamping his ticket for next week at Grand Slam. It’s now just a matter of who he faces to see who gets the AEW Men’s Title shot at Revolution.)

We’re told if Page wins this match, he’ll move on to Grand Slam Australia to compete for the #1 Contenders match for the AEW World Title. Davis attacked right at the bell, but Page quickly gained control with a low snap dropkick. Page foolishly started a chop battle, which Davis won initially, until Page low bridged Davis outside and met him with a slingshot cross body. Back inside, Davis gain control and took the fight right back outside, crushing Page against the barricade with a charging uppercut into commercial.

We return to Davis clobbering Page in the corner with a home run forearm, took Page up for a superplex attempt, but Page bit his way free, countering into a sunset bomb, Davis blocked, only Page swept the legs out to get his powerbomb. Page hit two springboard lariats, as he told commentary to move, looking for a slingshot sunset bomb, but Davis fought out. Davis tried another charge against the barricade, but no water in the pool and Davis crashed out. Page climbed into the crowd and hit a Orihara Moonsault off the railing before going back inside and connecting on a perfect moonsault press for two. Davis escaped Dead Eye with a release German, wanted a BT Bomb, which Page escaped with a hurricanrana for two. Both trade shots until Davis turned Page inside out with a home run lariat and wildly violent Awful Waffle for a near fall.

Davis tried the lariat once again, but this time Page met him, only for Davis to no sell and get his lariat. Davis tried to pull Page up into a piledriver, but Page countered into Dead Eye for two. Davis side-stepped a Buckshot, Page tried to skin the cat, but Davis caught him, only to fall back over the top to the ramp, Page held on and hit a Tombstone. Back inside, Page connects with the Buckshot to get the victory.

Post-match, Page said he’s stamped his ticket to Grand Slam Australia and hopes to see Kenny Omega there. Page tells MJF if he wins that match, then at Revolution, he’ll stomp every future child out of MJF’s little balls and take back the title that he should’ve never lost.

Match Result: Hangman Adam Page defeated Mark Davis

-Video package on The Jet Kevin Knight is shown. Knight said he knows what he’s capable of and is as good as he says he is. Footage of Knight pinning Kazuchika Okada and being the one to get the pin in the Trios Title win. Knight keeps hearing about how he’s the future, but The Jet is the here and now.

Kenny Omega vs. Andrade El Idolo (w/Don Callis & Lance Archer)

(This is the first time Andrade & Omega have faced-off since Triplemania in 2021. I’m very happy they’re pushing Andrade as a new contender in the main event picture, no matter how he won this match. With this win, it’ll be Andrade vs. Hangman Page next week in Australia for a shot at the AEW World Title at Revolution. A high-quality match, with Omega continuing to look great since returning to action and Andrade having another strong TV outing. I do like how this will presumably lead to an Omega & Swerve Strickland match, which will hopefully happen at Revolution, as I’d build that up over the next month instead of rushing it for Grand Slam, though, they could.)

Callis hid behind Archer as Andrade’s pyro went off, as we saw four “fans” ringside fawning over Andrade during his entrance. Andrade hugged Callis at the opening bell, before starting an early chop battle until Omega threw a V-Trigger sending Andrade outside. Omega wanted One-Winged Angel, but Andrade countered into a snap suplex on the floor. Taking way too much time back inside, Omega battled back with a superplex for two, as Callis said Andrade is so gorgeous he should be on a romance novel riding a horse, a line that baffled Excalibur & Schiavone. Maintaining wrist control, Omega threw a series of chops before successfully hitting You Can’t Escape. Andrade ducked a lariat into a flying forearm, kipped up and signaled for a Figure Four, but Omega got a cradle for two. Andrade quickly up, hit two suplexes, gator rolled outside and hit the third Amigo on the floor. Andrade briefly got distracted by the female fans before connecting on his springboard Tornillo, then posing with the ladies as things went to commercial.

Back from break, Andrade tried his double spring moonsault, but Omega was ready and got the boots up. Omega charged, missing a corner V-Trigger, as Andrade pounced with a Figure Four into the bridge, causing Omega to roll over and Andrade scramble to the ropes. Both trade strikes on their knees and rise to exchange more forearms until Omega spiked Andrade with multiple Snap Dragons. Omega went for a third, but Andrade escaped, only to be sent into the corner, positioning him up perfectly for a V-Trigger. Omega wanted an Avalanche One Winged Angel, but Andrade reversed into a sunset bomb and wrist clutch DDT spiking Omega for two. Callis buried referee Aubrey, as Andrade hit the corner double knees for another near fall.

Omega avoided the DM, leading to another chop battle, this time, Andrade chopped Omega right in the jaw. Both trade big boots and V-Triggers, as Omega went for a home run shot, only to run into the spinning back elbow from Andrade that landed flush. Aubrey checked on Omega, allowing Callis to throw a screwdriver in to Andrade. Callis distracted Aubrey, as Andrade went for the screwdriver shot, but Swerve Strickland ran down and took it from him. Aubrey then was distracted by Strickland, allowing Andrade to low blow Omega and hit the DM to get the win.

Post-match, Andrade scurried ringside and celebrated with the ladies as Strickland got in the ring, while Andrade taunted him up the ramp with Callis & Archer. Omega got up and got into the face of Strickland, as the two bickered and shoved one another. Security rushed the ring and separated the two. I think this was the first time security has successfully done their job and broke up the fight, as Strickland & Prince Nana left with Omega staying in the ring.

Match Result: Andrade El Idolo defeated Kenny Omega

-Video package on Brody King was shown

-Renee Paquette is backstage with Kris Statlander, who agreed not to be out there during the next match and doing so, she’ll give Thekla a rematch next week in a stipulation of Statlander’s choice. If Thekla is a good girl, Statlander will tell her what the stip is on Collision.

Babes of Wrath (TBS Champion Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) vs. MegaBad (Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford) in a AEW Women’s Tag Team Title Eliminator

Nightingale wanted Bayne to start, but Ford attacked from behind, giving MegaBad the advantage for about 5 seconds, as Nightingale collided them both together. Cameron tagged and we got a cazadora assisted splash on Ford for two. Nightingale tagged right back in with a snap suplex for two, as Ford got a jawbreaker, stumbling back so Bayne could tag in. Nightingale cartwheeled out of the corner and hit an enzugiri, before Ford ran distraction, allowing Bayne to hit a corner hurricanrana and follow-up Tope Suicida. MegaBad in control heading to break.

Nightingale was worked over the entire commercial, until things returned and Ford was launched by a Pounce to lead to the Cameron hot tag. Sling Blades and right hands-on Ford, as both traded standing switches until Cameron got a pump handle suplex for two. High kick connected by Cameron, but Ford answered with a clubbing forearm. MegaBad tried a delayed vertical suplex, but Cameron countered into a double DDT. Bayne recovered, went up top, but was cut-off, as Nightingale joined her partner in hitting a double superplex. Ford flew in with a double Blockbuster from the top, leaving everyone down. Tilt-a-whirl DDT spiked Bayne, as Nightingale followed with a spinebuster, but Bayne kicked out. Ford saved her partner, as Bayne launched her into Nightingale for an assisted Cutter. MegaBad took out Cameron with their Doomsday Device and got the clean pin.

Excalibur talked about how rare it is for Eliminator Matches to pay-off (probably would’ve avoided saying that prior to this evening’s main event), but it did tonight. We’re told MegaBad will get their tag title shot at Grand Slam Australia (during this match, it was also told that Jon Moxley will defend his Continental Title against Konosuke Takeshita on that show as well).

Match Result: MegaBad defeated Babes of Wrath when Bayne pinned Cameron

-Video package on the TNT Title match from Collision last week and the debuting Tommaso Ciampa defeating Mark Briscoe in a 19-minute gem. We go backstage at Dynamite where Ciampa is holding the TNT Title, saying out of respect to the title and Mark Briscoe, he’ll carry on that tradition. Open Challenge continues on Collision in Vegas; he won’t be hard to find. Silvy loves her new home and isn’t going away for a very long time. We’re told the challenge has been answered by Roderick Strong & Claudio Castagnoli.

Ricochet vs. Jungle Jack Perry for the AEW National Title

(The match itself seemed rushed, as aside from Bald chants at Ricochet, the crowd felt tired. It didn’t help that just like their last National Title match, G.O.A. interfered and ultimately led to the finish, even though The Bucks tried helping Perry this time. While I enjoy the action in these Ricochet & Perry matches and think they work very well together, the finish didn’t really make me clamor to see Perry get a third shot, as I have no idea if that’s in the cards. By all accounts, he deserves a shot without interference leading to the finish.)

G.O.A. accompanied Ricochet during his entrance, but went to the back, as Perry hit a dive at the bell and another somersault off the stage to follow-up. In the ring, Perry fired off a Spear and remained in the driver’s seat until Ricochet guillotined him on the middle rope. Ricochet kept Perry grounded, until Perry started a strike exchange. Ricochet was again sent outside, this time, Perry tried a cazadora bulldog, but Ricochet caught and smashed Perry into the commentary desk.

Back from break, Ricochet wanted a brainbuster on the apron, but Perry floated over back inside, swinging for the fences, only Ricochet gouged the eyes. Perry charged and tackled Ricochet over the top, skinned the cat, cleared the top with a big Tope Con Hilo. Back inside, Perry leapt for a DDT, Ricochet blocked into rolling Northern Lights, Brainbuster, held on for a suplex on the apron, held on and hit a DVD on the floor to complete the wildly impressive combo. Throwing Perry back inside, Ricochet connects with a springboard lariat and running DVD for two. Ricochet grabbed the National Title right in front of Rick Knox, as he slid it into the ring to run distraction, tried a low blow, but Perry had it blocked. Thrust kick connects, but the bounce back ended with a Ricochet lariat that turned Perry inside out. Powerbomb DVD countered by Perry into a Poisonrana, leaping DDT and Cutter, but Ricochet kicked out.

Perry wanted the Sacrifice Knee, Ricochet dodged, as both trade school boy attempts for two, with Perry eventually sinking in a Snare Trap. Ricochet tried the ropes, but Perry repositioned to the center of the ring. G.O.A. ran to the ring, as Kaun distracted Knox, allowing Liona to pull Ricochet to the ropes. Knox saw the rope break, as The Young Bucks walked out, smacked Kaun in the back with a chair, as Nick took out Liona with a dive off the ramp. As all this was happening, Ricochet placed the National Title in the corner and dodged a diving Perry, planting him face first into the title. Ricochet hit Vertigo and retained the title. Tony Schiavone said that was a tough break for Perry, as he said at least G.O.A. was kept away, which, no, they weren’t.

We’re told The Young Bucks face G.O.A. on Collision and the winners enter a 3-way match next week on Dynamite, facing The Rascalz an a Wild Card team with the winner presumably getting a Tag Team Title shot, but we weren’t told when that would happen.

Match Result: Ricochet defeated Jungle Jack Perry to retain the National Title

-Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors are in the production truck and have a worker in a headlock, ordering him to play the video they made. We cut to handheld video footage of Darby Allin in a body bag tied to the back of their car (he must’ve been moved from the trunk we saw him left in earlier) and dragged through the desert. Connors cuts the rope, as he & Kidd get back in the car and drive off with Allin left alone. We go back to Excalibur & Schiavone, who hope to have some update on Allin going forward, which, I would hope so.

MJF vs. Brody King in an AEW Men’s World Title Eliminator

(Obviously you can’t do this often, but wow was this effective, as the crowd popped huge for the absolute destruction they just witnessed. This made King a legit challenger heading into Grand Slam, while building the Andrade & Page match as well. A great, unexpected ending to Dynamite.)

Prior to the start, the Vegas crowd broke out in a massive F*ck ICE chant, which seemed to catch MJF off guard, while King nodded his approval. King had announced earlier today on social media that his shirt and comic put out recently raised $58,904 that went to the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee – Education Fund.

Right as the bell sounds, Hangman Adam Page’s music hits and MJF turns his attention to the ramp. King was right behind MJF and choked him out with the hanging sleeper off the apron, causing him to crumble. King quickly brought MJF back inside, hit the corner cannonball and Gonzo Bomb for the squash win and upset!

Post-match, King held up the AEW Title standing over MJF, until Andrade rushed the ring and clocked King with his spinning back elbow. Andrade picked up MJF and spiked him with The DM before Page ran down and clocked him with a Buckshot. Page wanted another Buckshot on MJF, but MJF kicked him low. King recovered and hit another Gonzo Bomb on MJF, holding the title up once again and standing tall as the show went off the air.

Match Result: Brody King defeated MJF to earn an AEW Men’s World Title at Grand Slam Australia
