AEW Dynamite live results: Philly street fight

AEW’s residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia continues tonight with a Philly street fight set for Dynamite.
Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will face Skye Blue in a non-title Philly street fight on the show. Storm is set to defend her belt against Blue’s Triangle of Madness teammate Thekla, plus Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter in a four-way at next weekend’s All Out pay-per-view in Toronto.
AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page’s issues with The Don Callis Family continue on tonight’s episode, with Hangman facing Josh Alexander in what is billed as a grudge match.
TBS Champion Mercedes Mone will team with Emi Sakura against Riho and Alex Windsor on the program. Mone will defend her title against Riho at All Out.
Shelton Benjamin and Ricochet will go one-on-one on tonight’s episode as well as the strife between The Hurt Syndicate and Ricochet’s alliance with Gates of Agony continues.

AEW Dynamite comes on the air with Bryan Danielson’s music hitting, as the new “permanent” addition to the announce crew makes his way to join Taz & Excalibur, who said it’s a changing of the guard, as Danielson’s in ring days are behind him.
AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Josh Alexander (w/Don Callis, Rocky Romero & Lance Archer)
(A surprise to no one that these two put on a great opener, with Alexander getting in a lot of offense and looking strong even in defeat, as there was simply no way Page was losing this match. The post-match was a great building block to the AEW World Title match that is now official for All Out. Despite the crowd constantly going after Fletcher for not wearing socks, he kept his composure and delivered a really strong promo to build to this match.)
Callis joined commentary and glared at Danielson in disgust before hilarious getting caught in the process. Slugfest right at the bell, as Page sent Alexander to the floor with his springboard clothesline, but was caught mid-dive with an Alexander right hand and brainbuster on the edge of the ring. Page dodged a running Alexander cross-body, tried a moonsault off the apron into a Tombstone, but Alexander slid out into an Ankle Lock. Page escaped and clotheslined Alexander into the front row. Alexander got in some brief offense before being sent back to the floor and Page hit a slingshot plancha. Alexander created enough space to recover, drag Page outside and successfully connect with a back drop on the apron and sliding cross body to control during break.
Things return with Alexander mowing down Page with a big boot, as Danielson called what Kyle Fletcher did to Kenny Omega last week disgusting, while Callis called it awesome. Page battled back with a Fall Away Slam and Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Alexander fought off a Dead Eye and Buckshot, countering into rolling Germans until Page pulled them both to the apron, where Alexander held on with another German. Still maintaining the grip, Alexander wanted on on the ramp, but Page flipped to his feet and dropped Alexander with an Exploder into the guard rail and concrete. Both just beat the 10 count, as they ramped up the forearm exchange until Alexander ran into a pop-up Liger Bomb by Page for two. As both fought up the ropes, Alexander managed an Avalanche Rolling Fireman’s Carry for two before sinking in the Ankle Lock.
Page just made the rope break, as both went back to the apron, where Alexander wanted the C4, but Page countered into a Dead Eye. Orihara Moonsault connected flush, as Callis quickly ran distraction on the referee, as Archer & Romero failed intervening with Romero being backdropped off the apron onto Archer. Page flipped in with a Buckshot to successfully put away Alexander for three.
Post-match, Page took the mic and said he didn’t spill a gallon of his blood to win the AEW Title just to have someone like MJF change the stipulations to matches. Page didn’t give everything he’s had to this title to have someone associated with a phallus head like Don Callis get involved. The most important word in AEW is Wrestling, as Page is the All Elite Wrestling Men’s World Champion. Kyle Fletcher walked out with Callis saying it was a nice sentiment to have, but it doesn’t matter. While Page holds the title, the Don Callis Family runs AEW and brings up his challenge on Collision for a match at All Out. Page said Fletcher is lucky to not have his ass flighted out of here after what he did last week, but understands it, Fletcher wanted to make a point. Page told Fletcher to get in the ring and face him eye-to-eye, as Fletcher whispered to Callis he had this and went to the ring, asking for an answer to his challenge.
Page said when he looks at Fletcher he sees potential, but of someone who also can’t put on socks. Page put over Fletcher for being built like a brick sh*t house, who has all the tools to be the future, even seeing himself in Page, like when he stood across the ring from Chris Jericho in the early days of AEW. Page said Fletcher isn’t ready, though, which Fletcher said he’s heard that his whole life. 26 years old, his prime is when he says and that’s right now, as he’s ready to be AEW World Champion. Page said if Fletcher truly wants it, he’ll give him a shot at All Out, but he needs to do it himself, to earn it without the Don Callis Family. Fletcher said Page might thinks that makes a difference, but he doesn’t need anyone to beat Page, as he has his word, it’ll be one on one. Fletcher won’t fail time after time like Page did before winning the AEW Men’s World Title and Page will say his full name.
Match Result: Hangman Adam Page defeated Josh Alexander
-Footage of Konosuke Takeshita defeating Mark Briscoe on Collision is shown with the help of MJF. Footage of MJF after the show is shown, as he said his wedding was the day before and his wife asked where he was going, it’s time for their honeymoon. His wife said if you leave right now, we’re done. MJF started laughing and said to that silly little bitch that he was married well before he ever met her, as he’s married to the game, as he swung the door open, ready to make Mark Briscoe’s life hell. Whatever stipulation Briscoe chooses for their match at All Out this week on Collision, MJF will say exactly what he told his wife on their wedding day, I do, I do, by God, I do.

-Renee Paquette is backstage at catering with The Young Bucks, who said when they win the $500,000 tag match tonight, they won’t be here eating awful food, they’ll be traveling first class and eating caviar, while Nick said he’s going to the casino to double it. They tried to sit down next to the Dark Order, but were rejected. Spotting Brandon Cutler, they tried to be chummy with him, but he said he’d been waiting to say this for a long time, shut up Young Bucks, storming off. Jon Moxley came in (extras scrambled) and reminded The Bucks who they are and promised them $250,000 a piece (so all of the Death Riders winnings) if they show up like The Bucks of old.
TBS Champion Mercedes Mone & Emi Sakura vs. Alex Windsor & Riho
(I unfortunately thought this had a lot of clunky moments down the stretch and it was an odd choice to have Mone tap to Windsor again, even if it was in the ropes all while Riho was tapping Sakura. It seemed like after that top rope double stomp Riho delivered, she was moving around very slowly, so I hope all is ok. It was important that Riho got the win here before the Women’s Title match at All Out, but I was wanting a stronger showing for her with this being her first match back on Dynamite in a year and a half.)
This was Riho’s first match on Dynamite since March of last year and Sakura’s first Dynamite since October, ironically enough, against Mercedes Mone. Sakura planted Riho with a slam early, but Riho was able to bridge out, deliver a dropkick and Tiger Feint Kick before tagging Windsor. She baited Mone in and delivered an assisted head scissors with Riho, who launched off Windsor’s back with a flying elbow to Mone. Riho back in legally with a Half Crab on Sakura, but Mone pulled her partner to the floor. Windsor flew in out of camera shot with a somersault senton and Riho followed with a cross body to the floor as things went to break.
During commercial, Mone & Sakura isolated Riho, who fought free with a head scissors on Mone. Using her speed to avoid a 2 on 1, Riho dove and made the hot tag to Windsor, who ran wild with a misdirect lariat on Mone, who kicked free from the Sharpshooter, but couldn’t avoid a Stun Gun. With Mone hung up in the ropes, Riho delivered a top rope double stomp and sliding dropkick for two. Both were slow to get up, as Mone was able to drop Riho and use Sakura for the assisted top rope senton for two as Windsor made the save, only to be sent packing quickly. An awkward looking leg sweep slam by Riho on Sakura, but Mone made the save this time. Sakura wanted Queen’s Gambit, but Riho escaped and sank in a Half Crab, while Windsor trapped Mone in a Sharpshooter in the ropes and both Mone & Sakura tapped simultaneously.
Match Result: Alex Windsor & Riho defeated Mercedes Mone & Emi Sakura when Riho submitted Sakura
-Renee Paquette is backstage with Ricochet & G.O.A. and was cut off by Ricochet who called The Hurt Syndicate cowards, but wanted a gentleman’s agreement, they want it just 1-on-1 with Shelton Benjamin & himself. At All Out, when their hands are raised in victory, The Hurt Syndicate will have no choice, but to respect them. That’s not a choice, it’s a demand.

-Renee Paquette delivered a by the numbers video package on FTR and Christian Cage & Adam Copeland and their success in AEW and in wrestling in general. The Canadian boys will be finally home at All Out, as fellow Canadian Paquette says may the best team win.
Stokely & FTR march out from the back, saying that package was bullsh*t and that the greatest tag team in the world is going to win that match at All Out. Every week, Stokely hears the same thing, “Shup Up Stokely, you don’t get any hoes, Stokely.” Despite hearing that, everyone in the 2300 Arena look like extras from Roseanne, so no one is getting hoes. Dax Harwood said this could’ve and should’ve been a dream match, but said he’s heard enough of the fans wanting to fight, so let’s fight. Harwood got in the face of multiple fans, bumping into the camera man, shoving he and the assistant holding the cable chord down, beating them up in the process. Referees and security were out to back off FTR, as Bryan Danielson said he wasn’t sure what any of that was about and I agree, that was an odd way to send a message to Cage & Copeland, beating up production workers.
-Renee Paquette is backstage with The Hurt Syndicate, as Benjamin cuts off MVP, saying if Ricochet keeps G.O.A. in the back, MVP & Lashley will stay backstage as well and he’ll put Ricochet’s goofy ass on his back.
Ricochet vs. Shelton Benjamin
(I understand why the did the finish they did, to put heat on Ricochet & G.O.A. but this was in the middle of being a really solid match before the interference. I loved that during the post-match brawl, Toa Liona especially, held his own against Lashley. It’s not all that often that’s happen and it was necessary heading into All Out.)
Attacking right at the bell, Ricochet sent Benjamin outside with a dropkick and wild dive before giving a fist bump to Taz in bald solidarity. Quickly back inside with a springboard 450 Splash, but Benjamin with a huge kick out and rose like he was The Undertaker. Right on cue, he guzzled Ricochet, chucked him to the corner and hit a running step up knee before rag dolling Ricochet outside from barricade to apron. Back inside, Benjamin no sold a forearm and launched Ricochet with a pump handle drop. Taking too long to follow-up, Ricochet hit a baseball slide and running dropkick off the apron to take control into commercial.
Back from break, the crowd chanting “We Bald People” as Benjamin caught a springing Ricochet with an overhead belly to belly before taking him to Suplex City, obliging the fans who wanted one more. Another step-up knee in the corner led to a float over snap suplex for two by Benjamin. Went to the well once too many, as Ricochet flipped out of a suplex and hit a double stomp as both were up and hit dueling thrust kicks into a double down.
Benjamin swung Ricochet’s legs through the ropes and delivered a pump kick, but took too long to follow-up, as Ricochet scaled the ropes and hit a Spanish Fly for two. Ricochet tried to use his golden scissors, but Benjamin put a stop to it and turned Ricochet inside out with a lariat. Benjamin grabbed the scissors (we got ECW chants) as he snapped them in half. Bishop Kaun showed up and distracted the ref long enough for Toa Liona to appear, deck Benjamin with a headbutt, allowing Ricochet to get the roll up and stole it.
Post-match, MVP & Lashley hit ringside and brawled with G.O.A. as Liona & Lashley especially didn’t budge from their brawl. Benjamin caught Ricochet with a thrust kick, as security had to separate them all. Ricochet almost looked like he was bodysurfing on security guards, celebrating his victory as they were carried to the back.
Match Result: Ricochet defeated Shelton Benjamin
-HOOK is sitting on a rooftop saying he’s always respected Samoa Joe and that The Opps always have his back. After Joe explained it to him last week, now he gets it, when one gets hurt, someone will step up. That said, maybe it’s time for HOOK to stand on his own, then again, maybe not.

-Tony Schiavone is backstage with Kyle Fletcher & Don Callis, who put over Fletcher, saying he respects the decision of Fletcher doing this on his own, he has all the tools necessary to defeat Hangman Adam Page. Fletcher said he’s going to need Callis to trust him, he’ll bring the AEW World Title back to the Family and Callis said he loves it.
Timeless Toni Storm vs. Skye Blue in a Philadelphia Street Fight
(A Street Fight in the ECW Arena meant there was going to be weapons aplenty and this delivered just that. Of my years of watching wrestling, I can’t remember seeing an electric flyswatter used before, so kudos on creativity on that front. I thought this delivered on exactly what was promised and the post-match left you with one of the challengers at All Out standing tall.)
Before Storm’s entrance, she came out with weapons, pulled a sign off the wall and smashed a beer on her head like The Sandman, who Storm showed off signed a kendo stick for her. Blue rushed the ring with a stick of her own and got in some shots to start, but Storm rolled out and cracked Blue in the ribs with the stick. Storm played a Stop sign like she was New Jack strumming a guitar, as Taz said she’s playing all the hits. Blue avoided Sweet Cheek Music and proceeded to staple the ass of Storm before stapling the breasts and crotch as well, causing Taz to giggle saying he has many lines, but can’t say them. Danielson was revolted, as Storm got the staple gun and got revenge, stapling Blue in the crotch and hitting a hip attack to the floor. Taz yelled to get her a beer as things went to break.
Both ladies brawled onto the barricade before both crotched one another at the same time, only to continue their slugfest. Blue decked Storm with a fans sign that read “Generational Heartthrob Tony Schiavone” but it was actually a street sign. Storm battled back and unveiled a giant table filled with mouse traps and it read “I Smell a Rat”. Storm offered cheese to all of commentary, as Danielson & Taz politely declined, but Excalibur accepted. Storm slowly placed Blue’s finger onto one of the traps and tried a slam off the apron, but Blue countered into a powerbomb onto the mouse trap filled table that didn’t break. Danielson reminded us when it doesn’t break, it hurts more.
We Want Cheese chants now as Excalibur perfectly says Blue had wedged a chair in the corner, but his pun went unnoticed. Storm got the chair, hit Blue in the midsection and DDT before getting an electric flyswatter, spanking Blue with it. After setting up a trash can, both ladies fought up the ropes, as Blue slid out, trapped Storm and hit a Cheeky Nandos kick before powerbombing Storm onto the trash can for two. Storm avoided Code Blue on a chair, brained Blue with a chair, placed the sign she brought to the ring into Blue’s face and hit Sweet Cheek Music before delivering Storm Zero on a chair to win it.
Post-match, Julia Hart & Thekla attacked Storm until Kris Statlander ran to the ring to help, but the numbers were too much and got beat down as well. Jamie Hayter sprinted out to even the odds, as her & Statlander were able to fight off Hart & Thekla until Hart ducked a clothesline and Hayter mowed over Statlander. Hart planted Hayter with a leg sweep and fought outside, leaving Thekla alone with Storm. Doing her Spider pose, Thekla planted Storm with a Spear and stood tall holding the AEW Women’s Title before doing the Spider pose over the body of Storm.
Match Result: Timeless Toni Storm defeated Skye Blue
-Renee Paquette is backstage with Willow Nightingale, who said after months, she wants to punch Marina Shafir in the face real bad. Harley Cameron came in with a guitar saying she has a song for Nightingale, singing Statlander is a good person that didn’t mean to harm Nightingale or cause disgrace, but if she joins their crew, Cameron will draw a cat on her face. The song made Nightingale & Paquette laugh, as Nightingale said having a cat drawn on her face is appealing, but she’s been down this road with Statlander before and it doesn’t end well and for Cameron to be careful. Nightingale leaves, as Paquette & Cameron slowly finish the song, with Paquette saying that was Cameron’s best song yet. Harley Cameron with a guitar will always be great and this was no different.

An AEW Unified Championship Tournament leading to a 3-Way at All Out will begin on Collision this Saturday. Kazuchika Okada vs. Michael Oku, Konosuke Takeshita vs. Anthony Bowens & The Beast Mortos vs. Mascara Dorada. The winners of those matches will face off at All Out in a 3-Way for the Unified Title.
AEW Tag Team Champions Brodido (Brody King & ROH Champion Bandido) & AEW Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta w/Marina Shafir) & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) in a $500,000 10-Man Tag
(The partiest of party matches to end the show, as this finish should certainly lead to a Tag Title match at All Out with Brodido & The Bucks. The post-match was the bigger story here, as the reveal of what can only assume to be the newest Death Rider was revealed. I was wondering where the story was going in recent weeks and am genuinely curious to see the direction the choose to go from here.)
The Bucks entrance was the old Dynamite theme and their ID pictures on the big screen with their full names Matthew Ronjon Massie & Nicholas Lee Massie. Danielson discovering Matt’s middle name is Ronjon was hysterical.
Nick & Bandido have a lighting quick opening sequence, with Nick getting three quick pin attempts until The Bucks try to cheat for a pin, but got caught by referee Rick Knox, kicking their hands free. King tagged in, stacking The Bucks on top of each other and hitting a running senton. Bandido tagged back in and did the Macarena, but again, King declined. Wasting too much time, Nick got his knees up on an assisted cazadora splash, as Yuta tagged in, but so did Joe and Joe in fact, demolished Yuta, to the delight of Danielson on commentary. Shibata tagged in and ran into a Yuta back elbow and dropkick, allowing Castagnoli to tag in and pepper Shibata with uppercuts. Shibata responded with forearms and his stalling dropkick. The match breaks down until Hobbs & King sent The Bucks packing, where King hit a Tope Suicida on them both. Castagnoli was ping ponged all over the ring until Bandido got an assist from King and hit a massive springboard moonsault onto the pile before quickly delivering a Frog Splash on Castagnoli for two as things went to break.
Bandido ended up being worked over during commercial, but made a comeback with a huge cutter and hot tag to Hobbs. Running wild with splashes and clotheslines on Moxley & Castagnoli, Hobbs lowered the straps, but Shafir ran distraction with the ref, allowing Yuta to hit Hobbs with a chair in the back, but Hobbs didn’t budge. Hobbs launched Yuta to the floor and took down Castagnoli, as King tagged in, dishing out overhand chops aplenty. The Bucks were squashed with a splash and Matt took a corner senton for a near fall. King followed up with a huge superplex, but Brodido missed their monkey flip splash, as Moxley flew in with a Cutter on King. Castagnoli tried his hardest, but couldn’t do the Giant Swing to King, as The Bucks started a Superkick Party, which was ended by Bandido, who hit X-Knee on Nick, but Matt saved his brother from a 21-Plex. Bandido sent Nick to the floor, tried a monkey flip on Matt, but Matt planted Bandido, got a jackknife pin and Nick held his brothers feet as they stole the pin.
Post-match, The Bucks ran and grabbed the bag full of money, but were chased and beaten to the back by King & Bandido. Shibata & Joe were beaten on the floor by the Death Riders, as Hobbs was as well in the ring until Darby Allin sprinted out, sending Moxley flying with a shotgun dropkick. Allin trash talked Moxley until someone in a hoodie rushed the ring and blindsided Allin. It was Daniel Garcia, who was met with You Sold Out chants, while Danielson was baffled. Shafir brought a chair in the ring and Garcia did a Curb Stomp, completely missing the chair, so Moxley ordered him to do it again, which he obliged and got all of the second try. Garcia beat the living hell out of Allin to the point of Shafir having to pull him back as he, Moxley & Shafir left through the crowd and Allin barely moving.
Match Result: Death Riders & The Young Bucks defeated Brodido & The Opps when Nick pinned Bandido
