AEW reveals new match, card change for Rampage

A new match has been announced for Friday’s AEW Rampage, and a change has been made to a previously announced match.

In the newly announced bout, Jade Cargill will take on Janai Kai. Cargill’s TBS Championship tournament semifinals opponent Thunder Rosa will be on commentary for the contest. Rosa stated on this week’s Dynamite that Tony Khan had allowed her to choose the match she would do commentary for in Chris Jericho’s absence, as Jericho was taken out by 2point0 and Daniel Garcia in a backstage segment.

In a change to the card, it was announced in a backstage promo on Dynamite that Rey Fenix was not able to make Rampage due to travel issues. As a result, the 2-out-of-3 falls AEW World Tag Team Championship match between Lucha Brothers and FTR had been switched to a non-title match with PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo facing FTR.

Already announced for the show, Sammy Guevara will defend the TNT Championship against Tony Nese. Rampage will be taped tonight at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.
