AEW star Adam Copeland books new movie role

AEW star Adam Copeland has booked a role in “The Beekeeper 2,” a sequel to the 2024 action movie starring Jason Statham.
Copeland’s addition to the cast was announced via Variety today, though there is no information on the character he’ll be playing. The movie is currently in production, and Variety writes that plot details are being kept secret.
This sequel has Statham returning in the lead role of a former government assassin. The cast also includes Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Pom Klementieff.
At AEW All Out in Toronto this month, Copeland had a big homecoming as he and Christian Cage defeated FTR in a tag team bout. Copeland’s wife Beth (WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix) made her debut AEW appearance at the pay-per-view but was taken out by a spike piledriver from FTR.
In the aftermath of the angle where his wife was attacked, Copeland has temporarily been written off TV, telling Christian that his family is being affected by what’s going on and he doesn’t know when he’ll be back.
Copeland also has an ongoing role in the Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” He plays Ares — the Greek god of war — in the show.
